Extremely concerned and need advice
I found a lump in my right breast (1.5 X 2.5 x 2.5). Mammo and U/S confirmed mass and denoted it category 5, highly suggestive of malignancy (irregular
hypoechoic mass suspicious for malignancy. I went for a biopsy yesterday and the Dr. only got 2 samples due to excessive bleeding. I also have been having dull aches in my right shoulder and arm for the past few months which make me even more concerned that I also could have bone cancer. Any thoughts?

Hi there and I'm so sorry about the stress you must be feeling right now. If no one has mentioned swollen lymph nodes or a PET scan to you then I think the odds of having breast cancer that's already spread to the bones are pretty low. So try not to worry too much. When you have the biopsy results you'll have some good data to act upon, but for now all any of us can offer is speculation, with a nice side helping of reassurance and love. Whatever comes, we are here for you -- and we know you can make it through treatment because we have walked that path.
All best wishes to you.

thank you so much for replying. Biopsy came back as stage 2 Invasive Ductal grade 2/3. I’m having double mastectomy in 2 weeks. I’m still having considerable arm/elbow aching and throbbing. Dr thought chances of having cancer in bones is rare but how can I explain this ache/pain? It all started a few months ago with breast changes. Has anyone had arm/emblow pain on same side as tumor and didn’t have bone Mets? I’m having a bone scan on Monday but I’ve read that it might not even pick up on bone Mets. Any thoughts? Thank you so much. I’m a mess.

mom
so many of us had other aches and pains and thought they were connected to bc... but they were not. bone mets are rare--- could it be stress related? or just pulled the wrong way---

Have you done anything that could otherwise explain it? (Rotator Cuff injuries are known to last a long time and they are fairly easy to get without knowing you have done something..and yes, it radiates.) The usual movement is having something in your hand and moving your arm backwards....it is quite the pain/ache. I don't think bone mets are rare and you are red flagged for checking on that. Don't get ahead of yourself here. At least try, anyways. Does your arm feel painful when you stretch it out and (looking straight ahead) and move it behind your back, out of peripheral sight? If so, likely rotator cuff injury. BTW...you don't necessarily feel the pain immediately if you have done it. It shows up a few days later.

it doesn’t hurt like rotator cuff, I don’t think. It is not all that active at night and I’m using my arms quite a bit. The aches are constant and focused mostly in elbow and forearm. It feels like arthritis to me but why would arthritis start up at the exact same time as seeing breast cancer signs and then diagnosis.
I’m truly trying not to get ahead of myself but it feels impossible. Every time it throbs I go to a dark place of thinking it’s bones.
I greatly appreciate the support and responses. Thank yo

Hi, I had arm pain too in my forearms before diagnosis and my first surgeon said to me that it would be rare to have breast cancer spread to forearms. Georgia is right - good sign if you don't have swollen lymph nodes. Believe it or not my pain was coming from too much time on the internet. When my Dr. suggested it was probably from a repetitive motion I stopped using the computer for a few weeks and he was right.

mommck3: you Are not crazy! I too am experiencing pain is on my left side Where my tumor is located. I can only guess at this point maybe Tumor is pinching a nerve but I absolutely did not injure my arm with exercise or anything else. all of this happened at the same time that the breast tumor was found. I have surgery next week and I’m hoping that my left arm and shoulder feel better after it comes out. I have burning, tingling and numbness in my arm and shoulder.

So update on my end. Bone Scan completed and came back negative (great news!). I still have elbow pain that radiates through forearm and sometimes into fingers. I am now also getting the same discomfort on the left side as well. I just saw my primary and they diagnoses golfer's elbow. The thing that troubles me is that all of this (breast cancer and golfers elbow) all started at the same time. I am seeing an ortho doc tomorrow. Still of course nervous since I haven't had surgery yet (set for 5/14).

this may seem likea stupid question. I'm Very new to this and awaiting my apt for the surgeon for I'm not even sure what.. But have they checked ur vitamin d level?? All my cbc work came back ok except a few lil things. Vitamin d was defecient.. So low the doctor told me if I had the smallest of accidents It would break my back and neck.. He said a fall at work would break bones... My bones hurt a lot.. Idk what further testing will be done after retesting my D after taking vitamins.. My mammogram results shortly after jave taken all the attention. I left the office hearing its serious. And the surgeon will call u for an appointment... Which they did today. And I have no clue what I'm even going to the surgeon for....but have ur D level checked.. Could be an easy fix for pain with super D vitamin once a week

how are you feeling? I know this might be a little late of a response but I feel super paranoid too, I think it’s normal. I think of the worse. I just got diagnosed may 11 @37, and after that day, I started feeling so many things in my body, can’t breath, back pain tingling in my hands etc, I have so many fear after that day. My lumpectomy is on June 18, and waiting time makes it worse. Anxiety is crazy. So while waiting for that day, I added a lot of food and supplement in my diet. That’s supposed to shrink, stop or prevent it from growing, I don’t know... (Though not 100% proven- right now I’d do anything do see my 2 little girls grow old)

Hi Taralynn8869,
I too have very low Vitamin D. So deficient that caused me a lot of fatigue. I don’t like the sun. I learned this 2 weeks after my annual breast checkup. My vitamin D level is a 9 (normal range is 30-100?). I got prescribe with 50,000u once a week.,
