    Hi Ladies

I had to change my screen name because of family problems - I was KayCe234 - and I didn't put this on my new favorites but thought of you all today and wanted to stop in and say hello.  Looks like the section has been quiet which I suppose is good, everyone must be doing well and moving on.

    Hugs and love to all!

    Kristen - Mommado aka KayCe234

Mommado (Kristen) - what great timing!!!! I was just wondering what all my December 2011 Sistahs were up to!

I see some of you on other threads, but have missed most of you.

After recon, I started Arimidex, and lasted a whole year before the MO took me off for life-threatening SEs. She gave me a two-month drug holiday, in which ALL the SEs went away. Thinking I was done, I was really surprised when she put me on Femara... that lasted all of six months before the SEs came back with a vengeance. But in the very beginning, the MO had always assured me that if I were one of those women who could not take an AI, she would feel very comfortable letting me go off them (due to the size and early stage of my IDC.)

Unfortunately, I had a bad fall in June, while we were on vacation, and now have a Traumatic Brain Injury to deal with. So I really haven't thought much about life after BC.....  with a TBI, it's two steps forward and three steps back. A cut on your hand, it heals. A broken leg mends. The brain just does whatever the brain wants to do. The Neurologist is not optimistic, but I am. I have faith that this too, shall pass.

The good part is that if something makes me mad, I forget what it is almost immediately. And if I get stressed, I am just as likely to go "SQUIRREL!!!" and be totally distracted. I've graduated from my walker to a cane, so that makes it easier to get around. And like Roseanne Roseannadanna says, "It's always something!"

I am hoping my December '11 Sistahs are doing well out there.... would love it if others would check in from time to time, especially as we approach the holiday season.

    xoxoxo

I have a new name, but I was part of this group....formerly k a m 17 0 (hoping to avoid a search this way).   Doing well as of now.  Still suffer, apparently permanent neuropathy, from the Taxol and I'll need some work rearranging implants.  Hard to believe we are approaching 3 years out!!

Blessings - so sorry to hear about your fall.  Do you mind sharing what happened?  You have such a great attitude!

Ginger - hey, my fellow brca2 plusser.

    Kaycee - hello again.

I use to email kate from Aussieland.  "Aussiekate,", but her last posts were as kate60 in the Aussie & NZ threads.  If you search on her name you can see her story.  She hasn't posted for a long while and I worry about her.

I wonder if CookieMonster ever reads here anymore?

Hello all! Blessings I've seen you but didn't realize you had TBI. So sorry to hear that. But somethings do just work out better than hoped so here's hoping.

I've been good. Finally had the knee surgery I had been planning 3 years ago when bc hit. That's doing good too. LOL

Sorry you had to change names. Hope the new ones last.

    Much love to all.

Hi ladies - I am finally feeling somewhat back to normal. I had my DIEP revision two years after the main event, and it started to look really nice. Still in physio every week for the various muscles that don't function as intended. Losing some of the 19-year old baby weight finally (it's like my body saved it for 15 years just so it would be there for the DIEP!) Still visiting the Running thread, and starting to get my pace back.

Sorry some have had ongoing symptoms and/or bad stuff on the site. I still follow this thread just to see if anyone posts news. Wishing you all well!

Hi everyone! It's great to hear from you all. Sounds like life has been having its ups and downs for us all.

As for me, I'm still cancer free. Not in love with the results of my recon, but it's not terrible. It looks good to everyone but me, I think. I tried to get my one areola tattoo done this summer but never managed to connect with the tattooist.

I'm super duper busy and feeling like I'm barely keeping my head above water. I blame some of that on the Tamoxifen. I'm at about 2.5 years, so about half way done. I think I'll throw the biggest party when I get to go off of it.

Sending hugs to all of you and healing thoughts too, especially to those dealing with what seems an unending roller coaster of medical issues. Hang in there!

I'm doing well Ginger.  Just had my right ovary and tube removed for cysts being caused by the tamoxifen but other than that doing well.  Life here is actually at an all time good (knocking on wood)  Hubby is happy in a new job close to home, kids are healthy and doing great, Mom who lives with us is happy and healthy and my job is going well.  Really couldn't ask for much more!  How are things with you?

Glad to hear things are going well. Sorry to hear about the cysts. I had both ovaries and Fallopian tubes out in 2011 due to being BRCA+ and at first the side effects were a bit rough but they are much better now.

I am doing well, thanks! Just finished up a school year and I am looking forward to the summer. I cannot wait to read, swim and ride my bike.

hey Ginger and Kayce and others that have recently dropped in....all good here. Had to take a long break and not be reminded of BC. It helps to forget about and I think there are some days it doesn't even enter my mind. Love to all

Hello all! What do I win if I tell you all I've had 12 surgeries in the 4 years? LOL this includes 2 cataract and one knee sx.

But I'm doing fine but that's why I never got back to work. Otherwise doing well.

    Much love to all.

Still come to BCO occasionally. Hi y'all! Going on 6.5 years since surgery and still on hormone blockers. All is good except the fear of going off those things. Going to UCSF this summer to ask about that and perhaps a geneticist about the BRCA2 nuisance! Anybody else with ER+ and/or PR+ still hanging in with the blockers? I'm hoping I'll get a little more hair on top once I quit. :)

    Hi All,

I'm not on the boards here anymore but get notifications from this group still.

I'm cancer free and finished my tamoxifen - so happy to be done with it! I know there are studies that say 10 years might be slightly better than 5 but my intelligent oncologist who knew just how miserable I was on it, didn't even bring it up.

Life has been up and down, this 2017-18 school year has been a rough one both at school and some outside, but it's almost done, thank goodness.

I hope everyone is doing well. Hugs to you all.
