I had bc 2 years ago. I went today for my yearly mammogram and they had me go back three times. The first 2 showed something and the third did not. My surgeon said no need for any followup and it must be nothing. Should I be worried. It's just not sitting right with me

Schmitz, was it a 3D mammo? Did they offer you any other imaging? Ultra-sound? Did you get a copy of your report? What does Radiologist say? I say follow your gut. Ask for an U/S and MRI. Kind of odd that the surgeon isn't being more pro-active, given your history. Not too worry you, but it would worry me more to wonder and stress about it, without getting a definitive answer. Best wishes!:)

Thank you for your reply and concern. I should have asked more questions. The radiologist didn't speak to me and just gave the results to the surgeon. For about 6 months before this happened I have had shoulder and jaw pain causes headaches and I just started my period after two years of hot flashes. I guess my body is in a funk but I just think with my history I should have been given the option for a closer look. I have to go to the ob gyn so I hope to get enough nerve to ask more questions I just get so intimidated. Prayers sent your way.

Schmitz- I agree with Keepthefaith, you need definitive answers. Write out a list of questions and take them to your appointment. Ask the doc to give you answers in plain English. You might start out by saying how intimidating you find it all, but that you need information. Take a deep breath and just blurt it out...your doc should be sensitive and understanding...if not find one that is. You can’t live in the dark about this, it’s too important! You are important! You deserve answers...which I’m sure your doc will appreciate. Let us know what happens. I know it’s so hard, but you can do this. Hugs
