Painful & Growing - Doc says just a tissue mass

Has anyone else experienced this?

In my left breast I had a fibroadenoma removed at the age of 19 (I'm now 27). I recently had a sonogram done and they've found another one in the same breast, this time the shape is of slight concern.

In my right breast, I've had a mass growing for years, it's become noticeably painful over the last 3 years or so.

It's hard, it's not smooth or consistent in shape. It's about an inch in diameter, you can visibly see it when I raise my arms in the air. BUT the same doctor that diagnosed my most recent fibroadenoma is telling me that it's just a mass of tissue and basically that I just have to live with it.

I can't seem to find a name for this, I just want some clarity. And maybe some options as to healing/getting rid of this.

Did they recommend a biopsy or a monitoring plan? What type of rating/conclusion did they give you in your report? Did they diagnose the left with the concerning shape as another fibroadenoma? I am sorry that you are dealing with all of this. I have never heard of that on the right side, but maybe some other ladies will pop in with their experiences.

They diagnosed the left with the odd shape as a fibroadenoma and they want to check it 6 months from my initial sonogram. I'm feeling a little uneasy now because when you mention rating/conclusion, I have no clue what that means. I asked a lot of questions and I still left feeling uneducated about what was going on. ALSO, the refuse to monitor the "tissue mass" on the right. When I return for my next exam they will only check the left. I'm concerned because I'm not finding anything online about tissue masses like this, and it's been growing for years.

Thank you so much for your response, it is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure how it works in every breast center. My breast center will typically give me a report after the appointment. Typically, it will have their findings on it plus a BIRADS score. They also will add this report to your patient portal online if you are setup like that. I am also on a 6 month follow up for a fibroadenoma on the left. I've had several biopsies on both sides. Honestly, it does seem VERY positive that they didn't recommend a biopsy or see anything that concerned them. However, they should have provided some explanation about the right area of concern other than "a mass of tissue'. You may want to contact a nurse at the breast center and ask if they can explain the results and what the right area is...Perhaps mention that you're still very concerned about the area on the right side and it has gotten painful. You could also ask for a copy of your report. I'm sorry. It seems like they may have tried to rush you along.
