Back in Nov 2015 I woke up as normal to get ready for work and while in the shower I brushed my left nipple with my forearm and thought I was going to pass out from the pain. Not kidding. I put the palms of my hands over my nipples and breasts and noticed that my left nipple area was HOT to the touch and extremely painful. Went in for appt that day. Was sent for a mammogram. The results stated: "Significant interval change with the development and/or enlargement of bilateral nodules, including dominant nodule in the retroareolar left breast; corresponding to the location of the lump I pointed out. This nodule measures 2.8cm."

Then I was also sent for ultrasound. That result findings stated "Multiple simple cysts including 2.8 cm cyst at 2 o'clock position that is corresponding with the palpable lump. Patient states it is tender. If needed, ultrasound-guided cyst aspiration could be performed."

Doctor then ordered anti-biotics for me. I did not take these. And just as quick as these symptoms came on; they left 2 days later. Leaving my left nipple area bruised feeling.

*Note: The next 2 years have been spent on a neck injury and repeated surgeries.

But, last summer in July 2017. I kept having these pains in my uterus area. And I decided to have a hysterectomy to relieve that pain, plus my child bearing time is overdue. LOL The hysterectomy did not take care of the pain(s) in my uterus 'area'......

Anyway, in between all of this time I would occasionally get those nipple pains and heat back. Then, my left nipple just became EXTREMELY itcy! Like I could rip it off it itches so bad. I asked my OB about this and maybe it could be inflammatory breast cancer and she just shrugged it and me off. Didn't even exam me. And I forget about it until it itches again.. which is about 1 day a week on average. But, I deal so much with my neck and back issues and fibromyalgia, that it seems minor most of the time. I just stumbled on this site and thought I'd throw out my symptoms and see what others might think... I've recently heard of another type of cancer that is with the nipple..... I just know that sometimes the right person may read something that they can relate to and maybe help another!

TIA

punkyb17 - I think you may be referring to Pagets which is characterized by itchiness, redness, scaling - symptoms very similar to eczema. It's possible to have something going on under the Pagets, in my case a small area of DCIS was discovered after a MRI. The only way to diagnose Pagets is with a punch biopsy. While I had a negative mammogram and ultrasound my GYN thought it best to go to a dermatologist, he is the one who performed the biopsy in office (very simple procedure). When that came back positive for Pagets I had the MRI which is the only thing that picked up the DCIS. I would have a punch biopsy on the area of your nipple that's itchy. I would also get a mammogram and ultrasound if you haven't since 2015. If anything comes up on ultrasound you can always have that biopsied as well for peace of mind. Keep us posted!
