Waiting for biopsy results/ biopsy experience
Yesterday I had the biopsy appointment, now I’m in the terrible waiting time... and scare like no other time in my life!!! For those who are waiting to get the biopsy, it was fast (30-40 minutes) They clean and numb (the anesthetic burn a little when applied)the area after they found the mass through ultrasound, the radiologist took three or four samples with a syringe that I’m assuming have a chamber or something to hold the tissue sample after they “cut it”. The noise is like a big stapler when they do the cut... I have a small incision from the needle with no pain... is a little painful where the mass is... but felt really good applying the cold pads... They left a marker inside and took one mammo image to make sure it was where it should... And it was done... Now the waiting 😬 Send good vibes and prayers my way please!!!

ctbaker im sending good vibes your way. I will be having a core biopsy on Tuesday. It’s been a whirlwind for me. It is comforting to know the procedure is quick and not painful. I should have my results by Thursday or Friday at the latest.

I just got my core needle biopsy done today too. So far only a little sore. I wish the results were as quick as the biopsy! How do you keep your mind away from worry?

I had a biopsy done and it came back Atypical Ductal Cell Hyperplasia. On Friday I went in for a Lumpectomy. I’m very very tender and I’m also waiting for the pathology report to come back.
I’m a very impatient person and the wait is killing me

I definitely understand you!!! Sending prayers for great results for you!!! Aprila

ctbaker -- I'm in the same boat. I had my biopsy on Friday and am on pins and needles waiting for results. I'm trying to keep my mind off of it, but it's really hard to concentrate at work. I do a little better in the evenings when I have things to do to get my mind off it, but then, of course, it comes back at bedtime.
I guess we just hang in there and say a prayer. I'm planning my twins' high school graduation party, so I think I'll address invitation tonight to keep busy.
Hugs to you!

We're all here for you, and routing for benign findings!! Please keep us posted, and yes, get out and get distracted. The waiting is the worst part!

Well, my biopsy came back showing a 12 mm "invasive mammary carcinoma with lobular features". The doctor said it was "very treatable". I've got an appointment next week with the surgeon. Since I'm being seen at a NCI center, they will have already discussed my case with a group of physicians and will have recommendations and options to present to me at the time of that appointment. I've got so many questions now, but I'll search the boards for some of those answers. And write them down for my doctor. My emotions are still a bit up and down, because I'm just not sleeping well. I wake up in the middle of the night several times. I guess the underlying stress is just keeping my brain from resting. I think I would be less emotional if I could get a good night's sleep. But I guess that just part of it all right now, until I see the doctor and know what treatment is recommended. Hoping everyone else got benign results, and I'm still in prayer fo ryou guys!

I’m sorry to read that RobinJ3024... In my casr after a long, long wait to hear from my doctors office for result, they just called (the nurse) to say that it was normal... and after insisting to know what it is, she just read adenoma... Don’t have any more information but I have some many questions, and found a dimple, I will create a new post to talk about... Just wanted to update here

ctbaker - Thanks! I'm so glad yours was negative!!! I kept checking back here just to see. I go to the doctor tomorrow; ready to figure out my treatment plan and get the ball rolling. This is small and early, so I'm certain all will be fine in the long run. Just a little rocky road in the meantime.
