The song that is so inspirational and has given me hope, beauty, and a connection to God is Switchfoot's Only Hope. The cello is beautiful in the original version. I also love Mandy Moore's version.

"Only Hope"
[Written by Switchfoot]
There's a song that's inside of my soul
It's the one that I've tried to write over and over again
I'm awake in the infinite cold
But you sing to me over and over and over again
So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands
And pray to be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope
Sing to me the song of the stars
Of your galaxy dancing
And laughing and laughing again
When it feels like my dreams are so far
Sing to me of the plans that you have for me over again
So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope
I give you my destiny
I'm giving you all of me
I want your symphony
Singing in all that I am
At the top of my lungs I'm giving it back
So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope. -

You Are Mine, written by David Haas - he's the guy who wrote "Blest are they" - the beatitudes song.
I will come to you in the silence
I will lift you from all your fear
You will hear My voice
I claim you as My choice
Be still, and know I am nearI am hope for all who are hopeless
I am eyes for all who long to see
In the shadows of the night,
I will be your light
Come and rest in MeDo not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mineI am strength for all the despairing
Do not be afraid, I am with you
Healing for the ones who dwell in shame
All the blind will see, the lame will all run free
And all will know My name
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mineI am the Word that leads all to freedom
I am the peace the world cannot give
I will call your name, embracing all your pain
Stand up, now, walk, and liveDo not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine -

Beautiful! Music helps me SO MUCH through treatments, through sleepless nights, through everything.
-
I sleep with it every night, covers my health machines noise
Come to the water
Peace I leave with You
-
Thy holy wings, O Savior,
spread gently over me,
and let me rest securely
through good and ill in thee.
O be my strength and portion,
my rock and hiding place,
and let my every moment
be lived within thy grace.* -

Just A Closer Walk With Thee

When I was four years old, I was sent for the first time to a Christian preschool for the summer. We had just moved, nothing was familiar, and I was terrified. My older brother, who was 7, was allowed to be with me for a few weeks to calm me down.
I remember freaking out because dried glue got on my fingers, and I thought my skin was peeling off! lols We all sat at a long table for lunch, and I was served cooked veggies at every meal. I had a gag reflex to them. There was a lady there who would sit beside me. She would point to the window, and say, "Look at the birdie!" I would turn and look, while she rescued me from the dreaded Lima beans and the like and eat them from my plate.
The sweetest memory of all was hearing a lady named Miss Sandy, who played guitar and sang this song. This was my first live performance I had heard. I was captivated. Although no one explained it to me, God revealed in my heart it was Jesus who has us all in His hands.
My favorite version of this song is sung in a classical style by the amazingly gifted soprano, Kathleen Battle.
He's Got The Whole World In His Hands
Arranged by Margaret Bonds
He's got the whole world in His hand,
He's got the whole world in His hand,
He's got the whole world in His hand,He's got the wood and the waters in His hand,
He's got the wood and the waters in His hand,
He's got the sun and the moon right in His hand,
He's got the whole world in His hand. He's got the birds and the bees right in His hand,
He's got the birds and the bees right in His hand,
He's got the beasts of the field right in His hand,
He's got the whole world in His hand. He's got you and me right in His hand,
He's got you and me right in His hand,
He's got everybody in His hand,He's got the whole world in His hand,
He's got the whole world in His hands -
I loved that one too!
