Tamoxifen and Fluoxetine (SSRI)

Hi Everyone,

First off I just wanted to say you all are amazing! This site and community was so clutch these past few months and I feel so fortunate to have found you! Thanks for all your guidance and honesty.

I just got the results of my BMX and no node involvement and 100% ER+ and 40% PR+ so I am assuming once I meet with the oncologist Tamox is def in the cards for me. I am getting scared though as I have suffered from depression since I was a young girl and when I found Fluoxetine 15 years ago life really began for me. My family literally cried as I came back to them once on the meds. So the idea of going off it, or even switching to another one that may not work gets me so anxious. Not to mention the possibility of weight gain, mood swings and just out of control behaviors. My son just turned 1-year old and I don't want to be a wreck as he needs me. And I need to be healthy. Anyone, have any input on the SSRI Fluox and the Tamox? Is that the only drug I will be prescribed? No other alternative?
