Biopsy 4/18
Hi everyone,
I’m 46, had a core biopsy yesterday 4/18/18. I’d not been getting mammograms in years past, my 1st was in 2006, and didn’t have one until 2 weeks ago. I insisted on the ultrasound and had that done first. They saw a small something at 11:00 on the R breast that was causing shadowing. So they had me do a mammo, which showed nothing. They made a follow up appointment for me for yesterday, when the US showed the same shadowing, so the biopsy was done. Now I'm just waiting for results. Supposedly I’ll hear late tomorrow or monday. Been making my bucket list. 😂

Mimithemommy - We're sorry you are here and waiting, but we wanted to send you a warm welcome to the Breastcancer.org Community. We know it's scary, but please, keep in mind that many, many biopsies come back benign. Please let us know how it goes. We're crossing fingers and thinking of you!

Hi, I just had my biopsy done today. I am 40 found a lump, seemed quite mobile and was at first not so worried. Cycts and such run in my family. But I saw my dr anyways. She recommended a mammogram, then on to an ultrasound. A mass is present. And I luckily got a biopsy done right away - an appointment was cancelled. And now I am here waiting, worrying, and googling. But I found this site and it seems encouraging and helpful!

Dear clairepw,
We are sorry that you find yourself here and with so much worry. Waiting for test results can be the most difficult phase of all of this. Please keep us posted on what you learn. Try not to google too much. Most of our members will say that it can contribute to unnecessary worry. Other typical advice is to find distraction in any way you can until you have a definitive answer. The Mods

I would like to know if I should get some pain meds for after my biopsy I was a chronic pain patient for eight years I am better now and take gabapentin and it works okish but I did not want to continue taking opioids every day so I stopped as soon as I finally started to get better. It seems though that now whenever I have any kind of procedure done and the docs say I'll b fine with ibuprofen and Tylenol, I'm NOT! So I hear this does not lead to any pain but I'm not convinced. Can anyone please shed some light on the time after a biopsy and whether u've experienced any pain afterwards. Thanks So Much!!!

Hey crhb111, I didn’t have any pain at all from my biopsy. I didn’t even take a Tylenol or ibuprofen, and went back to work the next day...I’m a massage therapist. Zero pain.
