depending on the med you are on, my nails became very thin and split. I use gel polish on them and that seems to work

Never had my nails fall out

I had 6 TCHP every 3 weeks. The pharmacist at the oncology center said to keep my finger and toe nails short and painted dark. Never had a problem though they were a little thin.

Mine did not, nor my toenails. I've heard some people like to apply ice baths to their fingers and toes during chemo administration, but I didnt even bother. Didn't cold cap either. I'm so sensitive to cold anyway. Sitting around with ice on my head, hands, and feet for 4 hours every 3 weeks sounded like a form of torture to me.

I normally wear gel nails, but I did not want to risk infections during chemo, so I just went with regular nail polish and what I call "gentle" manicures and pedicures. No clipping cuticles or digging around toenails. My nails were fine afterward, if a little more brittle, no discoloration. As they grew out after chemo there was a definite horizontal line on the nails. I've had that happen before after serious illness or surgery. Once that line grew out entirely my nails were completely back to normal.
