Biopsy Scheduled
I posted several months ago when I got my abnormal mammogram. Since then I've had 2 more mammograms and 2 more ultrasounds. What they believe is a cyst has grown from 2mm to 9mm as seen on mammogram but cant find one that size on ultrasound. So the radiologist thinks the mammogram squished it, and make it appear larger as she found a 5mm cyst. Anyway, she feels like she can say with certainty that it IS a cyst.
BUT, on my latest ultrasound last week there is a new spot that wasnt there a few months ago. Granted its TINY, so its caught early. I had told my dr about some random nipple discharge I'd been having and the radiologist found a small mass. Here is what the ultrasound report says: Subareola hypoechoic mass of indistinct margins.
Due to it being a new finding and my nipple discharge, the radiologist is bringing me in for a core needle biopsy Monday morning. Needless to say I'm nervous. More about the fact that they are sticking a needle practically in my nipple than I am about any cancer they may find. I'm well aware its probably just a cyst that looks funny. But happy they are taking my breast health seriously.
Any experience and tips yall can pass on from your own core needle biopsies?

Sorry you have to have a biopsy! They will numb you up pretty well, just be sure to follow the icing regimen afterwards, take it easy, and do your best to not knock or hit your breast afterwards. As medical procedures go, this one isn't bad. I think getting an IV placed is worse!

thank you for answering! I’m scheduled to work that night and I’m wondering if I should stay out. I do a pretty physical job at times doing food manufacturing.

I’m waiting for my CNB on Tuesday. I went through this last year as well. The waiting is definitely worse than the test. They numb you and you really don’t feel more than discomfort.
I wouldn’t have wanted to go to work in a physical job that day. But I have pretty large breasts and the weight of them, no matter how tight the sports bra was, made them painful. Tolerable, but painful. I spent that evening with Tylenol and ice packs

update:
Benign!! I have
Fibroadenoma.
So I’m good to go. Back to the yearly mammogram schedule. If my nipple discharge continues or gets worse I should get a breast MRI
