weety - I hope your dent is fixed and the harvested fat helps - and that you are recovering from the surgery!
-
Thanks, SpecialK. Look back a few posts and you'll see my update. It's too early to tell how the fat took in the dents and breast area. I see my PS on Thursday.

I am now 2 weeks post fat grafting, and am wondering how much others have had grafted at one time. My surgeon told me more than once that he was very aggressive with the lipo but at my post op today they told me that he harvested 240 cc and put 120cc in each side. I'm a little disappointed but wonder if I'm being unrealistic? I saw the PA today so didn't really have the opportunity to discuss the discrepancy,

I have the same question Flmom6, I have an appt with Dr Klein in a few weeks and that will be my first question.
-
TWills-keep me posted! We probably won’t ever run into each other there because they seem to have specific clinic days for each doc. I need to organize my thoughts and have a conversation with Dr Lee about what the miscommunication is! He is wonderful but still...I’m disappointed
-
Flmom66, definetly need to have a conversation with him. It's so overwhelming sometimes during appts, I tend to go kinda blank sometimes. If I don't take a written list of questions I most likely won't remember to ask. Hope you get some answers!

I saw s PS today and because of my radiation and recent diagnosis of stage iv he suggests (strongly) that I don’t reconstruct 😟 though if Mets stabilize, etc., it could be done. Does this sound reasonable?

janky - My SIL is stage IV bladder cancer. Her MO didn't want her to have a surgical repair for a prolapsed vagina. The reasoning was that any surgery puts more stress on your body and could adversely affect the current response to treatment. In her case - if her scans become stable and she continues to do well in the clinical trial - they will reconsider surgery.
Sorry you don't have better news. :-(

janky. I was almost 2 years NED when I decided to do fat grafting to rebuild my breasts. I had four surgeries in two years time. Between the third and the fourth, my mets came back and progressed. I can't help thinking if I had not put my body through so much stress and inflammation during that time, that's maybe I would still be NED. I wish my Mo had warned me of that particular danger. I'm glad yours did. Also, the radiation has made that side kind of funky anyway, no matter what I do. Unless you cannot live without your breasts (and yes I know that is not easy) I probably wouldn't rush in into any unnecessary surgery. Sorry.
Ps: despite progression, I'm still doing well at almost 7 years

hi Weety! I've been following this thread because I'll be having my first fat grafting in a couple of weeks (PS is taking it from my flanks). I wanted to find out how you are doing? Do you like this latest revision? What comes next for you? I wish you the very best!
I'm super nervous about my upcoming surgery because I literally only have two weeks to heal before I go back to a physically demanding job. I am having a lift on one side at the same time. He told me that I'll have drains (not sure for how long). This is the only chance that I will have to even myself out before a two-month working trip in Europe, and right now I am a B cup on the left and a C on the right. So I need to do this. At least with a prosthetic, I could look the same on both sides!!
Is 2 weeks enough time to heal? Will I be able to sit in a car for 3 hours and lift/carry heavy bags? I just had my DIEP on February 21st.
Thanks ladies. This is all so nerve wracking.

mitzi,
I haven't come back to this site for a month--got busy with life! Yes, I am doing well and had a second fat grafting on my flank area, but this time more like upper butt/back area. This wasn't nearly as painful as the hips. PS was able to fill in the divots on my thighs with some of that fat as well. They aren't back to pre-surgery condition, but definitely better and acceptable to me.
I saw PS today to check on how the fat took in the breast area, and although it's only a tiny, tiny layer (I'm not kidding when I say a thin layer--he said it's probably 2 milimeters,) he seemed pleased that the skin is softer. He is putting me on the list for the TE next! Yay! This is what he said in my notes: 1) Ordering Left breast Reconstruction with Tissue Expander(Plan for internal suture adhesion to create IMF, will go from inferolateral approach to avoid previously injured areas -- Versus opening from inferior approach and closing to chest wall with incisional closure, to avoid lateral breast tension upon expansion).
I hope his plan works! This is really my last option before giving up completely! This stupid left side has taken about 4 years too long to get done! I knew I was on the long-term plan, but never thought it would take this long!
