Skin lesion and pain in breast - referred to Breast Clinic ☹️
Hi all, I wonder if you could help me ease my fears. For nearly four weeks now I have had a very unusual skin lesion above the areola in my right breast. The lesion initially looked like a small bite so I took no notice of it, however, as the weeks have gone on a became aware that I was constantly grabbing at my breast to scratch it. I didn't realise that this lesion was itchy to start with but now I am and it's incredibly itchy and painful. I have not been able to compare it with any other lesion I have seen and this one is about the size of a flattened pea. It is raised and red, sore to touch and scaly on one side which has since rubbed off. I have also had incredibly sensitive nipple on this side, to the point I find wearing clothing uncomfortable. I also have localised tenderness and occasional throbbing pain directly above it and deep in my breast. I have pressed the area, which was a sharp tender discomfort and have found the whole area feels very nodular and raised. Some areas feel harder than others and I can also feel a deep longitude hard lump and a small pea size lump. I have also had intermittent pain radiating to my armpit which started in a January and no lumps found when I saw my GP. I do not have any nipple discharge or generalised inflammation. My breasts still look similar but both my dr and I can feel this unusually dense area. She is not sure if the two are connected. I have been given cream to see if it that helps. If not then I have to have the lesion removed. I'm not sure if she is thinking it may be a skin cancer. If it is could this cause problems within my breast of could something within my breast be causing the lesion. I'm so worried right now. I would appreciate some advice if possible please. Thank you

Dear LMB1,
Welcome to the BCO community. We are sorry that you are having these breast issues and we hear your worry and concern. It is hard for us and our members to know what the cause of this issue is as we are not doctors here. We are wondering if you have asked your doctor what she believes the problem to be or what the cream is for? Has she suggested any other screening tests for you? We are wondering if further discussion with your doctor might help to alleviate some of your fears. Let us know how this resolves and how things go for you. The Mods

good morning.
Thank you for replying to my message. I still have the rash and the antifungal cream I have been using isn't clearing it up. I have also found a 1.5cm story hard enlarged lymph nose an inch up from my clavicle. It is movable from side to side but very hard. I can also feel the progression of another one a but further up on the same pathway. Is this a poor sign? I can' feel any large lump under my armpit other than very grainy nodular breast tissue. I have an appointment with the breast clinic next week but I'm so scared I can't sleep. 😢
