Confused and worried
This is my first time posting but have been reading this forum for quite some time now. About 2 months ago I went to the doctor with some weird breast issues. I was having small amounts of yellow discharge from my right breast along with extremely itchy nipple and it appeared my breast was shrinking. The doc ordered a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound to be done. Went in for those test in march and the next day my doctor called me in and explained that they found a small mass behind my nipple. he wanted a biopsy done that day. he also said that if they couldn't get a sample during the biopsy that he was going to have it surgically removed and tested. but I couldn't get in for 3 weeks.
So I went for the biopsy yesterday and the tech started the ultrasound to mark the spot for the radiologist. When she came back in with the radiologist she started to talk to him while I was laying on the table and explained that she wasn't sure if it was just normal tissue or an actual mass. That the spot in one picture could look like a mass but if she moved the wand it kinda stretched out. She also said that the mass was more in the 9 o'clock position instead of the 8:30 position that was originally stated. She also said that it did appear to be hypoechoic but she didn't feel that it was anything to worry about. The radiologist listened to her and stared at the pictures on the screen and hummed and hawwwed for a minute and said he wasn't sure. He told me that he felt that even though the first radiologist felt that the mass needed to be biopsied he felt it could wait for a few months to see if it got any bigger. He said he didn't want to create any scar tissue that could create future problems with screening in the future. I told him my other symptoms and he said that he wanted to take a wait and see approach to this and told me to come back in July.
I can't help but feel frustrated and confused by all this because I feel like the tech quite literally talked the radiologist out of doing the procedure. I live an hour out of town and my first test was done in a different town. she had actually made a comment about getting the first ultrasound done in the other town. I have made an appointment to see my doctor and go in on Monday to talk to him about all this. I am just not sure what I should be pushing for. As I was leaving the room the Tech also told me not to put off doing the 3 month check up, that I needed to be very proactive on this, yet here I was thinking I was and she was the one that talked the radiologist out of doing the biopsy. I almost felt like she had slapped in the face when she said that.
I took time off work and had to drive an hour in for a procedure that never took place. I am not sure what the hypoechoic means and what the positions mean. I don't know what to expect when I see on my doctor on Monday and was wondering how much I should push the issue. Or if I should just do the wait and see like the radiologist suggested. I am going to make it clear to my doctor that I don't want to be sent and referred back to the same hospital, but would rather go back to the first one.

First, we know our bodies better than anyone so we have to be advocates for ourselves. I would have a biopsy done somewhere else. Even if it turns out to be benign, at least you won't have to worry. If it turns out to be cancer, well then you know and can work on a treatment plan.

Thank you for your advice ml143333. That is my next plan.
