Anyone else with a Biozorb?

I had my surgery in early February. My surgeon placed a Biozorb at the tumor site. I was swollen for quite some time after surgery, so I didn't really notice anything. Now that the swelling is finally gone (just in time for the start of rads), there is a noticeable bump where the Biozorb was placed. It's rather disconcerting. I know it's normal; they are supposed to absorb over the course of a year.

I'm wondering if anyone who has had one of these for more than a year can lend some assurance that that bump will disappear. If it doesn't, that would be good to know too.

    operamom1,

I had surgery in March and my surgeon also placed a BioZorb at my tumor site. I have to say I don’t have any visible sign. I did feel it when late at night I flipped over and put my weight directly on my surgical site (OUCH). But I recognized the value, both in guiding radiation and helping to rearrange breast tissue around the area where the tumor was removed. So thinking positive. Pretty new technology, so maybe not too many surgeons have used it. Will be following ithere and in the literature. Best of luck to you.

Thank you, JosieO, for your reply! I too recognize and appreciate its value. I'm getting used to the bump now. It was uncomfortable at first -- just the sensation of a lump in the breast -- but it's not bothering me nearly as much as it was before.

Best of luck to you as well!
