edited April 2018 in Not Diagnosed But Worried

I guess I thought a diagnostic mammogram was more than 2 views of each breast. But the technician said the Dr said he did not need anymore. She did say she felt the slightly smaller than pea sized pebble like lump about 2" down from my collarbone.

It was not visible on the mammogram. The ultrasound technician barely grazed the area and did not examine the rest of the breast.

The doctor came in and said "Well, it's not visible on the mammogram or the ultrasound. It could be breast tissue. Of course if it gets bigger, call your doctor."

My lymph nodes are quite sore and swollen around my armpit. When I asked the Dr why this could be, he said, "Well, have you been messing with it?"

No, I don't think I have cancer. But I have not been 'messing' with my breast enough to make it sore - it was very tender the day I did my SBE.

Also, "The fact that you're having any pain at all makes me less concerned."

I guess I will just wait and see how things look/feel at my yearly dr appt with my family dr on May 4.

This kind of stuff makes my head explode! Let your PCP know how this went down. You don't have any answers and that's not acceptable.

Wow!! He clearly has ZERO understanding of breast cancers and detection! It CAN hurt.

You need a second opinion, another doctor that will take care of yo

I agree with above.. Just because it couldn't be seen in imaging doesn't mean it's not there. I would def make sure I followed up and keep monitoring the size.

Thanks. I am sending my PCP an email to let her know. I appreciate the advice. Definitely not being paranoid. I know I was the first few days. But I know my body and I know something isn't right.

EDIT - I am in Arizona (my husband is a project manager, we are here til the end of June) and my PCP is in Florida. We are traveling back May 4th for our yearly physical.
