    Hi Ladies ~
I came by to sit with all of you by the fire and have that Hot Chocolate, or better yet hot lemon and water. I have the flu symptoms of sore throat, runny nose, headache and just plain weak.

The Main Circle seems to large and long. There would be a lot of reading to do. There is over 190 pages and I would not know where to begin. I think I would feel lost. I feel safer here right now.

I am unsure though what we are suppossed to discuss in this thread or worse yet the Main thread. What is this about picking a horse and wagon?

I think I also have CRS (Can't Remember Shit.) What does NED mean? If it means No cancer than I have been 2 years NED.

I have joined The Spa thread and really like it since I am trying to lose weight. I have lost 7.5 pounds since January 2, 2007 and would like to lose 25 more before my DH and my trip to Hawaii in April.

I have also joined I Want My Mojo back since my libido has changed sinced BC. I really like that thread as well. Of course I am in this one, have not joined the main one yet at least. I will have to do some reading up on it before I join.

I live in Northern California and work full time so I don't have a lot of time to do messages, plus dh uses the computer quite a bit for EBAY! He does give it to me though when I want it (most of the time anyway), and when I was going through BC he let me stay on CHAT as long as I needed to. He waited out his turn. He was with me and still is all the steps of the way.

    See Everyone next time.

The wagon circle is a positive place to share, support each other, whine, vent, share a laugh...or a drink One good thing about virtual food and drinks...no calories. Oh, and our virtual horses never need a pooper scooper

Do you mind if I come into your circle and warm my hands at your campfire?
No cocoa for me, though... Got to watch my weight. :-(

Welcome Vickie! Good to meet you. What is normal you ask? My first reply would be , "none of us are normal!" I'm joking so I hope I didn't offend anyone. I'm three years out and still full of emotion. You will find all sorts of friends here, we laugh, cry, lots of hugs, let our emotions flow, support....we even go on "trips." Hang in there!

Welcome Vickie2, i put a 2 beside it cos we already have a Vickie. Hope you don't mind, you can go by anything you want. A pm is private message. It's located on your home page. It's sorta like email to one person. So if you have a question or just want to talk to someone in particular just be sure you have their user name & go to your home page, it's self explanatory.
Come on over to the main Circle. It's not scary. lol Just long! A little trick, instead of clicking on the name of the thread, click on the name of the last poster & it'll take you right to the last page. Don't worry about trying to read it all, just jump right in & post!

Vickie welcome. Yep, Cheri is right, the Main Circle is over 190 pages and pretty intimidating. I too ONLY joined the message boards about a week or two ago. I ONLY wish I would have when I was going through treatment, but I wanted answers and I did not understand message boards. I thought they were like chats, but found out differently, so unfortunately I did not join them. I did go into chat religiously and the women there were life safers.

These message boards are interesting and VERY helpful. There are so many you can join. Please come see us in the Main room. We would love to have you.

You ask what is Normal ~ I only wish I knew. Now it's anything that pops up you wonder if it has come back or someplace else. I was told that it gets easier as time goes by, but that you NEVER stop thinking "Is it Back."

Go on with your life, do the things you want and have wanted to do. I am 2 years out and do and go anywhere and everywhere I possibly can. This year DH (Dear Husband) and I are going to Hawaii for 10 nights, Las Vegas for 7 nights, Lake Tahoe for 3 nights, Disneyland for 3 nights, and many weekend get-aways. Now we don't have any children at home. They are all grown, so that helps a lot.

By now your hair is growing in pretty rapidly and I would advise if you have not already get yourself Nioxin shampoo. It is GREAT and for some reason makes the hair grow in even faster. My hair now is just below my shoulders and still pretty curly.

Come see us again ---- someone is ALWAYS here to HELP even if it is NOT immediate. Don't make the same mistake I did 2 years ago.

I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only 'not normal' one around this campfire. It's cold here today in Michigan, so I hope we're burning oak!

I'm getting tired of this whole thing - ugly fingernails in the process of falling off, peach fuzz hair, continuing treatments. But the worst part is the people who ask me how I'm doing. I don't know why, but lately that question seems to only make me grumpy. I know they are asking out of concern, but I'm tired of being told how good I look. I want normal hair and nice nails and no more doctor appointments. Do you think I'm just tired of treatments after 6 months? How do I get past this? The last thing I want to do is be mean to someone, but lately I have such trouble responding in a friendly manner. I still have 7 more weeks of treatments, then rads after that, so I really need to get my attitude straight!

How do you get to the Main?

I have been using nioxin since my husband shaved my head...a friend of mines niece is a hairdresser & she gave me some....My hair is coming bk very soft & curly....gray to but thats ok....

I hear you about going & doing & I wish dh & I could do more of it. I still have 4 children at home. I'm hoping that in April after the older one gets married that occasionally we can leave his brother/sister w/him...course hes a fireman so...anyway...we do need to go & do more....

I still think about dying alot...is that normal?

First of all, I want to say hello to all of you. So glad you found the circle. The main thread is the Circle the Wagons thread - the one with over 100 pages! What can I say? We get chatty.

Do not try to read it from the beginning as things change everyday, every hour, every minute. Just say hello and move on from there. Its a fun place. You will get lots of support and make some really great bonds and friendships.

Judy: Hope your cold is better. Try the mucinex I suggested.

Irene: The fun thing about the circle is the food is virtual. We can eat all the cheesecake we want. Ill have some hot chocolate for you tomorrow morning. But if its too cold welcome to my teepee instead of the campfire.

Moreland (Vickie) Ummmmm! Your normal, trust me. We think we should be better, we want to be better. This journey doesnt end when chemo does, darn it all. BTW I'm one year post chemo - hair is back. Cute pixie. Had it colored 3 times already. And come Friday, when I get a paycheck on Friday - Im getting it cut again. Last year at this time, I was just about 2 months post chemo and swore I was never gonna have hair again. Got rid of my hats 4 months post chemo. So welcome aboard.

Texas Sunrise: Hope your recovering from the surgery. Im stopping my foot down, geez, I missed out on the cinnamon rolls.

Anne: I can so emphasize with you. I had the ugliest finger and toenails. Its hard - ya know? Going through this treatment. But hey, were here and we will help you through it. For the first time in a year, I got a French Manicure. So it gets better.

OK everyone. In the main circle the wagon thread we have a fruitcake tent. And if I have to come to 2 sites to talk to all of you I will definitely need to sleep there, permanently.

Welcome. Its a great place to come.

Nicki,,,thank you sooo much....I keep thinking I should forget this & move on...When I talk about it I feel guilty if I complain or bring it up. I really am lucky...I"m just still sooo scared & I'm wondering if that ever goes away.

I had my first haircut about a month ago...I'm suppose to go again the 17th but my son is in a Pinewood Derby here for scouts so....

I'm so glad I found this group!!!

You ladies have been sooo sweet....I wish you guys could come be w/me on the 9th!!!

Moreland Mom: I dont know if it goes away, cause I still have moments. But not as often. And Im still scared. Now whats going on the 9th again. On the 8th, I get my port out - it only took 20 months lol. First year anniversary, for me, the anticipation was harder than the day.

But we will put you in the middle of the wagon circle on the 9th. Make sure all goes well.

Time to go - got some movies from netflix to watch.

Yes I did what you told everybody not to do, to start at the beginning of this one wagon circle "welcome"...now I know why, my eyes are so tired..LOL

Im here today, most not likely tomorrow, who knows when as I was laughing so hard, something i havent done in a long time, as when "No Surrender" was giving the grand tour of this place, which I still havent done, BUT what cracked me up was the "food wagon"...LOL I had to laugh, as I remember LONG ago , NO not Disneyland down south in So CAL, but dang it, pain med block, the other place where they have or had wagon trains, and they called them "Chuck Wagons", the ones with the food! does anyone remember that? Brain fade so bad w/me tonite, its a bit further I believe south from D=land....

I know it will be 3am and I'll wake up and remember the name of that theme park....dang and they had good chuck wagons, are the ones here about the same, anything you may want from something spicy to pot sickers? or is it just hot cocoa?

Oh yea I like my hot cocoa with milk chocolate and marshmallow cream. But at this time it has to be gatorade, and thats no fun.

See ya next time I ride up!

    Welcome to the Wagon Circle.

I think you will like it here.

The women in the Circle have found their way here from the Newly Diagnosed Forum, the Moving Beyond Forum and the Recurrance and Metastatic Forum. You see, there are no criteria to becoming a member here. Just like there is no criteria for getting breast cancer. We all, somehow, wound up with it. We may be newbies. We may have completed our treatments, we may be trying to live in our New Normal after we have completed everything they have asked of us, and we also may be facing our biggest fear: having done everything we could possibly do to beat it and it has returned.

All our cancers are different. No two pathologies are alike, all our realities of having this disease are different too. That is why all our Wagons are so different. You will see every shape, size, color and adornment on these wagons. But as different as they are they are still in a circle, a circle of strength, courage, friendship and hope. We have been blessed to have found our Sisters – sisters who understand everything we are going through and just “get it” without our having to explain.

We gather ‘round the fire and keep each other company, share a hug or a tear, laugh a great deal of the time, and do our best to keep those of us who are going through especially hard times feeling safe and loved and cared for.

We are family. We take care of each other and even have a place for your kin should you want to bring them.

There is no membership- no special code- the ticket of admission is an open heart. Just come on in and make yourself at home. We have plenty of horses and mules too. There is always an open spot by the fire…. No matter where you are in your journey, if you want to be with women who understand what it is to live with this disease, who all become newbies again with each scary test and scan, who all have walked the same path you have, then just follow the smell of the woodsmoke from our bonfires and come join us among the laughter and the cocoa and the stars.

    Love,
    No Surrender (g)

Now that NS has explained what the wagon circle is, come on and play with us in the Circle the Wagons thread.

    Vickie 2,
Hi! I'm 2 yrs. out of treatment and I still think about dying, although it has gotten better. Everytime I have a dr appointment, I get scared again! I just had bloodwork done yesterday because my 4 mo. onc visit is next week. It always sets everything off. But, I promise. Your life will settle down. The old you will come back again, just with a little extra baggage .

And Ter, Please come visit us in the Wagon Circle. Don't be intimidated! You will soon get to know everyone. It is a very warm, welcoming place to be. We have a tent for anything that might be ailing or bothering you. These wonderful Circle Girls are lifesavers!

    Hi Ladies ~
    Biker54 ~ I too am 2 years out, when were you dx'd?

In reading NS's Circle explanation I KNOW what she is talking about. A little over a month ago I had a bump appear where the SNB was and freaked out. I called the oncs office right away and luckily they saw me the next day. After going through a mammo then ultra sound it was discovered it was scar tissue from the SNB. What a relief it is to hear something that good. I think now that we have gone through the initial BC we are going to be more in tune to every nook and cranny of our bodies and when something pops up look out docs we are going to call.

Ter welcome and I am sorry we had to meet this way.

Come on everyone and have some Hot Cocoa and Cookies with us at the "Big" Circle.....

    Hugs to all of you,
    Judy

Welcome hope you all will joing us in Time to Circle the Wagons. But don't try to read back further than a page or two. It moves pretty fast as there are over a hundred wagons in the circle! Niki usually gets us up in the morning and I'm usually one of the later ones on at night as I'm on the West coast of our circle and can't get on until after dinner. Just jump in and we'll go from there! Once again Welcome!

CY ~ I just wrote to you in the Main Circle. It's too fast for me. I am a little too Green for any type of Message Boards. I was typing the other day and right after I sent the post 7 jumped in after me and 3 before me. How long does it take to get used to Message Boards? I did not do them when I was dx'd or surgery or treatments. I am sorry I did not.

Where on the West Coast are you? Oh wait, sorry I just noticed you are in Washington state right? Wow I wanted to move there because it is so beautiful.

I did tell some Newbies in Chat to come and visit here on the Welcome board.

    Nice to meet you.

    Hugs,
    Judy
