Looking for doctor in Round Rock, Texas area

Does anyone know of a goodbreast surgeon in or near Round Rock familiar with IBC?

    My surgeon was in Austin, but she did a really great job for me and it might be worth the trip for you. Heather King at Texas Oncology. She's very conscientious and thorough.

    Thank you so much for replying! I can’t drive very far and have to have friends drive me so I hope to stay closer. I did notice that Texas Oncology has an office in Round a Rock. I might check there.

    How far is Round Rock from Houston? 2-3 hours? I don’t know if it is feasible for you, but I’d go to MD Anderson for IBC, if at all possible. They are recognized as top in the field of IBC nationally and internationally (patients literally come from all over for consultations in their IBC clinic)and any surgeon there is likely to have experience with IBC - which is particularly important in surgery due to potential skin involvement.

    Thank you for replying! I would love to go to MD Anderson but the cost is prohibitive and I have other health issues that make it difficult to travel. I have thought about calling there to see if they can recommend a doctor in this area.

    Puzzled1, I think it is a great idea to call Anderson and see if they can suggest someone near you. You could also try contacting the IBC Network to see if they might be able to help. The most important thing, I think, is that you find a surgeon that you feel comfortable with and of whom you can ask questions about their training and expertise in IBC and the procedure they are recommending etc. Any doctor who is offended by such questions is probably not a good choice.
