The party went well and the birthday girl was very happy with her costume. Best of all, it fit!!
I have eaten everything I shouldn't and now I feel like the proverbial snake who over eats and needs to curl up for a nap to digest........at least for the next eight hours that's me.......lol.😊
-
Chrissy - all I can say is WOW!!! You are amazing (already knew that) and so talented. Hugs, Karen
-
love the outfit!
-
The costume is just amazing!
-
Hi SoCalLisa,
Yes, you told me about that product. Thank you again!
Since it would need to be applied on top of to where my 'girls' were removed, I want to run it by my doc before using it. This is the new formulation and it looks pretty good. This is what EnvironmentalWorkingGroup.com had to say about the old formulation. A few changes, but I want to make sure since EWG.com hasn't tested the new formula at this time. I'm just really careful about what goes on and into my body these days.
The torso shingles are good today, thanks! Judy
-
Chrissy,
That pink owl outfit is just tooooo adorable. I'm gonna show my ignorance and ask if you have Halloween Down Under, or is there a special event she will wear the costume, or just for fun?
You are so creative!!! Judy
-
Hi all!
Karen so great to see you here! It's been absolute ages!
Thanks for the cudos girls.......I do like creative things and sewing is just one. It's taken many years of practice and lots of failures to get where I can make stuff without starting with a bought pattern but I am still concerned that my efforts will fit properly if I sew for others.
I guess that's more to do with age as I used to love doing bridal and formal wear and used to earn quite well doing it. So I sewed for many people without thinking about it. I still sew for myself (clothes) as I'm such a funny shape that most store bought clothing has to be altered anyway......lol.
Judy, yes we do have Halloween down under but it's nothing like the celebration you have in the USA. It's only been in more recent years that it has been celebrated at all. Miss Evie (my niece) is just one of those little girls that loves to dress up........yesterday her costumes for the day were princess and owlette. ......lol. If I thought that the costume wouldn't get worn I would have told my brother try to buy one on line as this one was not cheap.......fabric here is not nearly as cheap as in the USA. (I found that out when I was over there) so just materials alone cost about $60 Aus so that would be closer to $75 US.
Well I have my regular docs appointment this morning then I will be heading home....yay!.....but I have some time to kill so I'm going to check out the new Galaxy note with a view to updating mine. This one gets what I call 'sticky' and is really starting annoy me.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy
-
chrissy. I have the Note 8 and love it.
-
Judy, I use the Body or Skin over my mastectomy area where it was one of the places I had the shingles. Didn't bother it
-
Lisa I am now the proud owner of the Galaxy Note 8.......still setting it up but I'm getting there. What was the app you used for editing your photos? You did tell me but sometimes I think I'm so brain dead I can't remember anything.......very frustrating indeed...lol
Got a good report from the doc so that's a good thing.....the only downer but was I have to up my thyroid meds as the dose I was on was just not cutting it anymore.... may well explain the recent weight gain.....mmmmm.
Need to go to bed, it's now 1.00am and it's been a very long day.......need some shut eye.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy

SoCalLisa,
Good to know that the BodyGlide didn't bother your shingles. Wore my forms in a simple cotton sports bra and after about 10 hrs. yesterday, the edges of the silicone form irritated the retreating bumps to itch again. Since I have depressions in my chest, and the silicone foobs, however soft and squishy, have a distinct edge, I'm thinking because they don't fill in my concavity, that's the 'rub.'
Does anyone know if the foam forms have an edge to them. Do some other women find that this skin is now more delicate, even without radiation?
Thanks, Judy
-
chrissy, I use the editing of the phone. After I crop one, three dots comes up in the top right hand corner for more editing
-
My skin is definitely more delicate. 10hrs is a lot to wear any bra IMO. My foam form comes in a little cover. The only edge is where the cover has a seam between back and front.
-
Thanks Lisa, I'll check it out.
Judy, the little pocket I made for mine stops any irritation. Like you I have an indentation/depression in my chest and while the skin is more sensitive in that area it's not more delicate.
Can't help myself.....lol.....got up for a bathroom visit and had to check in.........now I'm going back to bed......lol.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Wren,
Thanks for that foam foob info! From some online images, it was hard to tell. Will see what my fitter is able to come up with. Nice to know that there are no seams on the skin side.
And you think 10 hrs. in a bra is a lot? Gosh, before my surgery, I wore mine all day, but they were the all-over stretchy kind and I was small. Now it feels good not to wear anything at home and I can understand why my busomy friends can't wait to take theirs off.
When I first had my surgery I kept watching that Dragon Tattoo Trilogy and studying the actress, Noomi Rapace, that went braless. Without any bra she was a pancake. Was hoping her lack of self-consciousness would rub off. Didn't work for me, but maybe that's the more mature European mind-set. I sure want my 'social security' in public

SoCalLisa,
Got the green light to use Body Glide yesterday and it certainly helped. Thanks so much for your idea!!!

Hi Nancy,
You wrote about dealing with Lyme. My doctor recently and finally cleared my body of chronic Lyme and co-infections. It took about 2 years while we also cleared other issues and supported various functions so my body can fully heal.
Anyway, while at his office today, I copied the title of a book on Lyme he had in the waiting room, should you want to check it out. This doc is a functional/holistic MD, so there's no one-size-fits-all with his patients and how he practices medicine. Good luck with your healing and hope this book is something that might be of help.
Hugs,
Hogwarts/Judy

Hi, Everyone. I'm new to the group having just been diagnosed with DCIS, grade 1. I'm still debating treatment options and am leaning either toward doing nothing at all or double MX with or without reconstruction. Part of the issue is that I am 70 years old and do not want to go through the multiple diagnoses that many of you have. So I figure either I'll do nothing but watch it to see if it changes or just go whole hog and be done with it. My biggest concern is the effect of 12+ hours of anesthesia if I choose to try a DIEP reconstruction at the same time as the MX. Anyone here who has had experience with this? Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences.
-
I was diagnosed at 71. After several tumors were discovered accidentally that hadn't shown up on anything, I had a mastectomy without reconstruction. I don't regret my decision although it's difficult to match sides. Thelma is a perky foob and Louise is a droopy girl appropriate for a 77yo.

and so it goes again. Just had mammogram, and sonogram this afternoon and appointment for MRI. This was after an MRI for my liver in the morning. I had a MRI for my knee a few days ago. The radiologist this morning said I knew more about my history than anyone else he had examined. And knew the right questions to ask. Told him fourth time around is the answer. I feel pretty calm this time. I guess I have become a stoic. With all my other ailments I feel I need to Triage me. And so it goes....
-
Oh Lisa not again?! It just seems like you get through one thing and another pops up. Can't help but think that the Universe has got it in for you and you just keep spitting in its eye coz you are still here, still strong.
Hang in there lovely and please let us know how things are.
Love n hugs. Chrissy
