Does anyone work during chemo treatment and what kind of job do u do ? I’m 45 years old and newly diagnose stage 1 hr - her positive awaiting oncotype result ..I’m a multisytem icu Rn ..thanks !

    I did, but I was a community health nurse. I could set my own hours based on my workload and my energy levels from week to week. Having worked in NICU & PICU before, I would have to say I wouldn't have been able to keep up during chemo, especially not full time. My MO didn't want me around sick people either (my clients were not generally ill.) I also limited my time with the general public. Even with all those precautions I became septic once and had to go to ER other times for fevers during chemo.

    I worked through chemo. I’m a fundraiser. I worked full time. I only took off the day of chemo (which was Friday) and sometimes the following Monday depending on side effects. It was hard but it helped me focus on something else other than being sick

    I’ll start my treatment in the 17th of April , per Mo I will get iv taxol for 3 months every week plus herceptin iv for 1 year and 20 rads treatment , he told me that I won’t have problems working as an icu nurse since that chemo will not wipe out my wbc compared to others . I’ll wait wait and see how the chemo goes and I’ll go from ther

    I had fairly bad neuropathy in my hands and feet from Taxol despite icing them during infusions. That was the only side effect really, beside cumulative fatigue. However, I had another chemo combo before Taxol.
