Nipple/Areola reconstruction

I had a bi-lateral mastectomy Aug 2016, followed by 4 rounds of chemo, delayed reconstruction, tissue expanders placed May 2017 (some complications) expansions started 6 weeks later every week for 4 months, expander/implant exchange Sept 2017 I was so excited thought I was going to really look good but was disappointed. The surgeon said I looked great but that isnt how I see it. I went for my pre-op for nipple/areola reconstruction this week surgery is scheduled for later this month. I decided to cancel the surgery. I feel like I cant handle another let down after going through another surgery. I am considering 3d tattoos. Any thoughts on the 3d tattoos.

    We're sorry to hear of your frustration with reconstruction thus far, but we're sure you'll find others here who can empathize with your situation and offer some advice. Others will likely be by shortly to weigh in with their thoughts and experiences.
