About a week ago i noticed my left breast was pink. Its gradually gotten a bit more vibrant but I have no pain, my nipple is normal no dimpled breast. Basically my only sign of IBC is the redness and the fact DR Google said I have it.

Went to Urgent care today because I cant shake my fear. Doc said its early mastitis which is why it doesnt hurt. But i have no fever. Im literally freaking out because i know most IBC cases are first diagnosed as mastitis. I start antibiotics tomorrow. I. A 24 year old mom of 2 and am so scared. Have any of you had mastitis without a fever or ibc with only redness?

Dr Google tells a lot of tales, as you've already noticed. There are many benign conditions which can cause your symptoms, so I'm glad you've seen a doctor. This absolutely could be mastitis. Hopefully the antibiotics will help.

Breast cancer in a 24 yr old is quite rare, less than 1%. IBC is the rarest of breast cancers, usually diagnosed after age 60. So the chances if this being IBC are slim, indeed. The thing to know about IBC is that it gets worse rapidly. It does not get better with antibiotics. It just gets worse and worse over a matter of hours and days.

Try not to Google anymore. Just typing the word "breast" will bring you to breast cancer. As if that is the only thing it could possibly be. At your age, you have about a 99% chance that this is benign. Take your meds and if it doesn't get better, go back to your doctor for further testing.

Best of luck to to you.

Bdp- I had mastitis several times in my 20s, once when I wasn’t even nursing! The first time I had a really high fever, I don’t remember having a fever the other times though. I think you will notice a difference in the first 2 days on antibiotics. Best of luck to you!
