Remaining breast hurts my back without a bra.

I've always worn underwire bras. March 21 I had my right breast removed and my left breast, I was a size 34D, being unsupported is causing terrible backaches and poor posture. Is there anything to lift the remaining breast as an underwire would have? Thank you.

I had a UMX 6 years ago and an extremely large 42DD breast remains. I had back problems at first until

after complete healing I got a prosthesis that was heavier - not the new lighter ones. It helped balance me

and solved my back problem, posture and balance issues. You are certainly a lot of time away from that as

your wound heals. I have found that Amoena brand mastectomy bras have had more support for me.

    GOOD LUCK!

Good morning, Denise! Thank you for your response. I will look into a little heavier prosthesis, and the Amoena bras. I’m also going to check out your blog. I’m so sorry you, your mom and sister have had to take this journey, and I hope you are all doing well now.

    Thank you again, Kare

Karen7359 - we are doing well, thanks for asking! Also, after you heal, the other thing that causes a little bit of problems is sleeping. Since I'm a side sleeper, my remaining breast has nothing to stop it. I always have to put a pillow where my breast used to be.

It is a journey of learning that is for sure. Your body will adjust, but it takes some time. It is hard to find a good mastectomy center offering items for women. It is worth seeking them out. Your insurance should pay for many things. ALL MY BEST!
