Afraid of IBC

Hi, I'm waiting on a follow up doctor's visit and am definitely afraid. :/

I woke up last week with a huge red circular spot on the side of my breast. It hurt, itched, and was hot.

The next day I woke up and the redness was gone, leaving a big bruise.

Now, the bruise is still there (it seems to keep getting better, then worse).

Most worrying is the hard lump I feel under the bruise, like bean sized. Where that lump is is a very noticeable darker patch within the bruise, shaped almost like a triangle.

I did just have a miscarriage so my husband thinks it's a clogged duct or something else, but I can't shake the fear that it's IBC.

Any advice, help, reassurance, would be wonderful. ❤️

    welcome to the forum Hbee93. I have to say that you have the most un-IBC like symptoms I've heard of, and I've read and commented on dozens here. But, do keep us posted and relax meanwhile.

    I'm sorry for your loss. Miscarriage is so heart-breaking. I had one in 1991 and i still think of her.

    Your symptoms do not scream IBC to me--IBC doesn't get better, only worse. However, something is going on there. It very well could be related to the miscarriage. Call your GYN and have them take a look at your breast.

    So I saw the doctor today, she found the lump and noticed the breast and armpit are swollen, along with the bruise. Now I wait for a mammogram and ultrasound, but I'm pretty much 100% convinced it's cancer and I'm pretty shook up.

    when is your mammo and us? Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I've had two miscarriages. I know the agony of that, plus the agony of the dreaded BC. Please keep us posted.

    They haven't called me to schedule it yet but I just have a gut feeling it's not gonna be a good result. The agony of waiting isn't helping anything either. I appreciate the responses though, helps it be a little less scary.
