so glad I saw this thread. I had my first radiation treatment today. About 4 hours later I got extremely dizzy and threw up. It passed about two hours after that. I will ask my radiologist tomorrow about it. It will be a rough 33 treatments if I have to go through this every time

I did alright the first 3 weeks, but as of today, l did feel wierd. I had naseau, and felt dizzy too. I wonder if it's because they started the boost of radiation today.

I googled symptoms of severe sunburn or sun poisoning. Radiation, at least for me is producing the same symptoms, as if I had been out in the sun for too long and became severely burned or even ended up with sun poisoning. A doctor would be concerned if this happened, but they don't give a damn if you get these same symptoms from radiation!

I have lots and lots of dizziness after radiation. You are not alone. I have also felt nausea. Each time I tell my doctors, they tell me it is not caused by radiation. The worst has been two weeks after radiation treatments ended. Good luck . You are not crazy. I also want to add that I am a person who takes NO other medications or even aspirin. My body is not used to "treatments" and it feels the effects of radiation very strongly.

Hi ladies- I just wanted to let you know that nausea is actually listed as a short term side effect on my consent form. So at least some ROs don’t deny it. Thankfully the only dizziness I felt was when the machine was moving around me, sometimes it felt like motion sickness

I am really amazed at the lack of concern and even denial by doctos about the effects from radiation. What is going on? Are they afraid o being sued? They had the nerve to tell me that radiation does not cause dizziness at all. One doctor asked me five times what other meds I am taking. Each time I said, "None." I am so tired and dizzy I can hardly type this and it is two weeks after the radiation stopped. One nurse told me there is a dip in post-radiation treatment that occurs about now. Just can't believe the doctors insist radiation ONLY causes fatigue.

Re dizziness during radiation: I can get dizzy on the table, too. For me, I have had vertigo in the past and know it is related to my inner ear. When I visually see the table shifting me and the radiation arm moving over my head, my eyes boggle and the vertigo happens. So I have to keep my eyes closed. I have BPPV (benign positional vertigo) which is triggered by head movement - in my case when laying on the table with my head pointed to the right at a 45 degree angle. Consider whether or not you have some inner ear issues. The nausea comes with the dizziness.

Just wanted to let everyone know, I am also having nausea, dizziness and headaches after radiation. I am half way through 20 courses of Proton Radiation to both breasts, and have mild nausea, sore throat, ear ache, blisters in my mouth, and nasty headaches. I also have loss of appetite and food tastes metallic. The symptoms appear both after treatment (which is usually in the evening), and first thing in the morning, but pass after a bit. My doc says I'm just unusually sensitive, but that symptoms like these are not uncommon for people who have also gone through chemo. I didn't require chemo, but do have fibromyalgia; wonder if symptoms correlate to weakened immune systems? Also, I was told to drink tons of water, because radiation causes dehydration, and a lost of these symptoms could be from that.
