Indentation right breast
Back In September 2017 I had an ultrasound of right breast which cane back clear. Last week I noticed while my arms are at my sides I have an indentation on the lower outer quadrant of my right breast. I don’t think I feel any lumps but I have been told when I was younger that I have lumpy breasts, so I don’t really know what i feel. I’m 30 years old, only history of cancer is my grandmother who was just newly diagnosed last year.
I deff have health anxiety already and now this has completely consumed me. I’m really worried. I sent a message to my dr directly who told me to wait until after my period which is in a couple days (also bc I’m on birth control pills). Any advice for me?

Hi Deema,
Really the only advice is to get it checked by a physician, who can really judge what is going on, and understands you and your history.

I'm just chiming in to say, I too have an indentation and have seen two doctors and a nurse navigator at the breast center and after a clear mammogram and ultrasound was told that sometimes the ligaments in our breasts get "lazy" and cause indentations in the breast. I'm not saying that's what yours is, but I just wanted you to know that there are many more possibilities other than cancer that could be causing it. Sending prayers your way that everything checks out okay for you. Let us know how it goes. 🙂

Thank you for your reassuring words. I have contacted my doctor she told me to wait until after I finish my placebo pills of my birth control and if I still see it she will have me see the breast surgeon. I really hope it’s related to my period! Thank you so much you have really helped put my mind at ease for now

You're so welcome!! Glad I could help ease your mind a bit!

Hi Deema, I had a indentation on my right breast about 3 years ago. I had already had my annual mammogram 6 mos prior, but, I went to my OBGYN and she scheduled a diagnostic mammogram and a US, Later the radiologist told me he couldn’t find anything and just appeared to be part of my anatomy. I just had another Disgnostic Mammogram today and got the all clear. But the Docs and technicians keep telling me I have dense breasts which can be hard to read.So I just get used to the extra tests. So I understand how you feel...sending prayers your way...just keep in perspective it could just be a part of your anatomy like mines was

thanx, I contacted my dr she told me to wait until I finished the inactive pills of my pack and if I still noticed something she would have me see the breast surgeon. Well I’m half way through and yes it’s still there. My anxiety has been crazy lately all I want to do is cry and just keep looking and feeling around for anything that might be new.
I have to bring myself to call her back and tell her I have to be seen. I keep trying to tell myself I’m fine bc my ultrasound in september was clear, but then I look at it and I scare myself all over again. Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it.

I have a quick question, being the anxious person I am I’ve constantly been looking for lumps by this “dimple”. Now I feel I think a swollen lymph node below my armpit before my breast tissue. Can feeling around make it swollen ? I feel like I’m doomed I’m so scared to even go see the breast specialist. I’m only 30 I wanna to married andlhave kids. Any adviv

Since you are asking advice, I would tell you to stop poking around and aggravating the area that has your concerned.
What I would also suggest is talk to your doctor about a possible anxiety disorder. It's very probable that is what you are dealing with, not a breast issue. And there is help for that, too.

so I know it's been a while since my last post. Unfortunately I had a death in the family so I've had a lot going on. Anyway, I saw the breast surgeon who did a thorough exam and told me that's told me that the indentation is due to weak Coopers liagments. Followed up with my Gyno and she told me that no new imaging is needed unless something changes.

why did they have you go to the surgeon for that advice? Seems a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound would have been the route. That is odd. Glad you got an all clear! I have an indentation in my right breast and it is the result of two tumors that weren’t detectable via breast exam

initially I had an ultrasound in September and then bc I wasn’t satisfied I was referred to the surgeon in February. I’m sorry to hear about your outcome, how are you now?
