Mysterious Lump and Pain- Second Opinion?

I found a painful lump behind my left nipple back in late September; not cyclical. Mammo and US showed nothing; MRI showed BIRADS 4 "non-mass enhancement seen in the retroareolar region of the left breast in a ductal distribution measuring approximately 16 x 30 mm. While this may be inflammatory in origin, malignancy cannot be excluded." MRI-guided core biopsy in January resulted in "fibrocystic changes with florid ductal hyperplasia." Followed up with breast surgeon who said we have our answers and everything is fine, but now my pain has come back. The lump area feels different because they took some out when they biopsied, but the pain is still there. Since the MRI result mentioned inflammatory in origin, could this be an infection? Should I get a second opinion? FDH shouldn't present with a lump and pain, correct? I'd like to try to get pregnant soon but don't want to take the risk if there's an outstanding problem. Thank you!

Hi Shoestring, I think that considering you’ve noticed changes in the lump that a call to your breast surgeon is in order for re-assessment. All changes should be checked out. This doesn’t mean it’s developed into something worse, just erring on the side of caution. I’m hoping all the best for a simple explanation of the change and good result for you! Please let us know how things are going, this community really cares! :)
