I’ve posted on here a few times and have read countless threads. I have yet to find anyone with a similar story (I know they’re out there 😉)

Not sure if there’s a link (really feel there is tho), but I developed a mass in my left breast 5 days after starting Humira for Crohns Disease). It was literally all of the sudden there. Then a few days later my nipple started to become inverted and then next I was bleeding from the nipple (a lot of vascularity going on as well). Mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy, all done. Pathology came up negative for cancer.

Lump has to be removed anyways but I opted for a double mastectomy because of strong family history. I go to see the surgeon and he says “I’ve spoken quite extensively with the radiologists who did your ultrasound and biopsy, they all agree they see cancer but cannot find it. I recommend an MRI with contrast”. So I had that done this morning.

I’ve had severe weight loss and now my appetite is going. I told them I’m not sure how much more I can take, I’m getting weak. I didn’t have the weight to lose to begin with. My whole life has been turned upside down (which I know MANY on here can relate with). I’m not nervous or scared, I just want to know if there are others with my symptoms that have had to go thru all this testing and WAITING (UGGHHH). I’m pissed that i even used Humira!!! Now reading all the lovely side effects I see breast cancer and other cancers on there. I was also told it might not be found until after the surgery and pathology is complete.

Thanks for listening

I am sorry to hear this-I quick googled Humira and sounds like it hits the immune system really hard, for a disease that had already weakened your immune system. In a sense, it might have tipped you into an early warning of what was going on inside.

Hi Alice, I’m so very sorry for all you are enduring! I’m also sorry that my story isn’t similar, but thought I’d chime in here as I developed ulcerative colitis during my cancer treatment. Like Crohns the fatigue and weight loss is part and parcel of the disease...especially when under stress. My diagnosis, treatment and anxiety turned my body against me with the worst flare up ever! Perhaps this applies to you as well unfortunately. I’m glad your MRI is done so that you can get on with the business of recovery, and some relief from the Crohns. Keep us posted on your mri results please

@tinydaisy, I can relate to a lot of what you said as well. It’s comforting to know I have people like you (and so many others out there) I can open up to.

This has been the longest month of my life!!

Have the results (sort of) from the MRI and the radiologists are still baffled. This shit is all over in there, all the way to my armpit! They can only, for now, call it inflammation? Well whatever. They may find cancer after my double mastectomy next Monday. Either way these breasts need to go. Something is causing my extreme weight loss and I have a feeling what’s going on in there may be the culprit.

    To be continued...
