Breast and nipple changes

I'm 35 years old and had a 3D diagnostic Mammo with tomosynthesis last September that showed no issues. (Had a lipoma higher on chest which was the reason for appt)

Fast forward to the last two months, and I've had some discomfort in my right breast. Tingling, heavy feeling that comes and goes but seems more than just cyclical.

Last night after sleeping for a couple hours I got up to use the bathroom and noticed that my right breast looked a little different in shape than my left. The nipple wasn't inverted but was a little flat and pointing down to the right. It seemed temporary (went away in a couple min as I was anxiously staring at it) and I've checked multiple times since and my breast and nipple ooks "normal" again. I almost feel like I imagined it but I know I didn't.

My question is- do nipple changes associated with breast cancer come and go or once they change are they constant? Given my Mammo was just 6 mo ago I'm wondering if I'm ok to wait and see or if I should schedule another appointment.

Nipple retraction can have a benign etiology that can come and go (like how you slept on it the other night) but changes related to the presence of a real cancer like skin or persistent nipple retraction are fixed and do not come and go. By that time some of the cancers are already palpable.

I would mention this to your doc and have them examine you and make the decision regarding additional imaging at that time.
