Best Nausea Meds

My mom had her first round of chemo on Friday. Saturday was good but Sunday she has had persistent nausea. She’s taking Compazine and Zofran. Is it still common to have bad nausea after taking the meds? She received Emend while getting her chemo on Friday. I’m about to become an a nervous wreck-cancer sucks!

    You may want to call her oncologist today to have a chat about her persistent nausea. The oncologist can adjust her medications. It is better not to wait and see if this will get better on its own. Some anti-nausea medications can cause nausea on their own if taken on an empty tummy and without food. Once she gets the nausea under control, she may want to try eating 5-6 small meals a day so there is always some food in her tummy. Meanwhile, call her oncologist and get some help.
