Appreciate any recommendations on medical oncologists in Michigan. I am willing to travel to another state for an opinion/treatment plan. I'm post surgery and radiation treatment. I started tamoxifen and had terrible bone pain. My onc told me she had never heard of that happening and it could not be the meds, but as soon as I went off the tamoxifen the pain decreased.

Hi Mi_survivor! We're sorry you have to be here, but really glad you found us!

To help you get responses we suggest that you post your question about the onco in this topic too: Illinois ladies facing bc

Also, the ladies in the Bottle 'o Tamoxifen thread have a lot of experience with this drug and its side effects, and we thought it would be a good idea to bring your concerns to them. We're sure they'll welcome you with open arms!

    Whining you the best,

Hi, Mi_survivor, welcome. There are multiple threads here sharing experiences of Tamoxifen and AIs; many of us have side effects, including joint pain, so please know it’s real and you’re not alone. These meds have a less-than-stellar compliance rate because the SEs can be debilitating.

I’m currently working with UM and love my oncologist there. While I no longer take Tamoxifen she has acknowledged the challenge many of us have with the meds and their affect on quality of life. She has access to the latest studies and has a keen sense of our QOL experiences with all treatments. Ifyou’re able to get to UM, I highly recommend their team.
