I had some color changes below my nipple that are responding to steroid cream (getting better). Is that a good sign that the changes are not related to IBC?

Once they start, the physical findings of IBC seen in the skin do not subside. Getting better with steroids is a good sign. Did your doc examine you and prescribe that cream, or is it over-the-counter?

I saw my general MD yesterday. He noticed a slight pink area and prescribed the antibiotic steroid cream to be used 2x daily. He said if it didn’t respond he would send me to the cancer center. I work at and go to a major university hospital MD so care is pretty good there.

My underlying issue is that I had a fibroadenoma removed from that same breast 2 years ago so I don’t know if the changes are due to a 1.5” benign tumor being removed and my skin stretched or if it’s something else.

Thank you for your quick response.

If the changes came on recently, and they are resolving with the steroid, it is not likely related to your prior surgery.
