Vaginal Odor?

I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing vaginal odor after being on all these drugs over a period of time and with vaginal atrophy, etc. I have been to my gynecologist. I don't have any burning or itching and have been tested for infections and everything is negative. My urine test is normal. So I think it must be lack of hormones or estrogen?  However, I have never been a "stinky" gal or had any kind of odor until now. Has anyone else noticed a change in their odor and if so, are you using anything to help deal with it?

I think that the hormonal changes can cause dryness which can lead to odor. I noticed odor a few hours after showering so I started using replens or vitamin e suppositories and it seems to have solved the issue. Hope that helps:

It doesn't surprise me that a person's body odor would change with taking medicine. How much water do you drink a day? Water with lemon is my go-to drink most of the time, even in restaurants, it's what I order. I drink many glasses of it a day. Every once in awhile, tho, I get a craving for soda or lemonade and will drink that for a day instead of water and I notice a difference in the way I smell. Not just the privates, but I think in the way I sweat, too, the overall body odor. So, if you don't drink lots of water, consider upping the intake and look at other type things you eat to consider if it makes any difference, eating more veggies and fruits may help.

Maybe the change of hormones cause your vaginal oddor. I'm not sure but you can try some natural tips to get rid of unpleasant smell of the vagina from this article.

    • Add into your daily diet with foods such as: yogurt, citrus fruits and blueberry juice or pineapple juice: Yogurt contains many lactobacillus helping restore normal pH levels in the vaginal areas. The citrus fruits can cure inflammation of the vagina and prevent female odors. And natural fruit juices helping balance bacteria in urinary tract. Remember to drink more water daily.
    • Indian gooseberry: It serves as an organic cleanser and a natural blood purifier and subsequently reducing the infection resulting in vaginal odor. Also, this natural ingredient is traditionally used to manage thick vaginal discharge. You can consume Indian gooseberry regularly in raw or another form such as juice, pickles, powder.

A temporary the method to deal with vaginal odor for you is perfume because it can reduce the bad odor quickly. Simply spray a little dosage of perfume from the knees towards the inner thighs to make your vaginal area smell better.

I've been on tamoxifen since 11/2014 and notices vaginal wetness almost immediately. I mentioned it to both my oncologist and gynecologist. The gynecologist prescribed a topical cream and the oncologist looked on his pc and indicated this was prevalent in a small percents of women using tamoxifen. Now, I'm experiencing a not too pleasant odor with the wetness. I thought it was from wearing Poise regularly so I stopped for a while. I think it's the tamoxifen. I use apple cider vinegar to keep it tame.

I have found that I have a very strong urine smell! I spoke to obgyn and she said going through menapause can cause order issues due to hormone but has never heard of urine smell. I am not leaking( no wetness or urine on underwear). I really can't stand it. Has anyone else had this?

Did she do a urine test to see if you had a bladder infection? In my experience, that can cause your urine to smell wonky.

I have found that menopause gave me a strong case of "dog nose". I seem to smell everything more intensely than I did before, especially body odors.

Tammibaby...does the ACV burn? Do you just put it on a cotton ball and wipe a few times? Or are you drinking the ACV and that is making a difference in your vaginal odor?

I switched to tamoxifen from Femara last September and almost immediately noticed the strong urine smell, like I'm on a steady diet of asparagus. I take chlorophyll twice a day now, and that helps kick it down a fair amount. Really have to go the extra mile with keeping myself clean - have always showered daily, but still have to take additional care, including changing my underpants partway through the day sometimes.

Most definitely! Tamoxifen put me in 'old woman' status. I feel just like an old lady and my body is reacting horribly to it. I have extra wetness in my vaginal area, popping sounds, even an oily content. The worse thing I noticed was that I started to smell of ammonia. I've seen my doctor who is not so good in the cancer field but everything is fine (he says).

I started taking a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar each morning in my water and it cleared up the extra wetness and the smell. If I miss one dose it comes right back.

    I hope this was helpful!

Could it be bacterial vaginosis? That can be found with a simple test, even at the walk-clinic or, more likely, urgent care. I see you say you've been tested for everything. Maybe ask again about this. When I went into menopause suddenly, literally from one month to the next..full menopause, that kicked off bv with a vengeance. Overshare but every web site out there will tell you, it's more of a fishy smell. Strong antibiotics by mouth or suppositories clears it up. Don't be freaked by websites that say it is hard to clear up. I've found that so not to be true.

Many issues with vaginal atrophy (lovely, and sexist, name), which happens quickly when we're put quickly into menopause or head into menopause quickly. It's ramped up much quicker than with natural menopause and causes way more issues.
