Radiation After Mastectomy

I'm scheduled to meet with a radiation oncologist on Thursday at the request of my oncologist. No chemo needed, but possible RT due to 2 positive axillary lymph nodes. I recently chatted with my aunt who did not have chemo or RT years ago and now the cancer is back, in her bones. She's now in a wheelchair and very weak. Seeing her like that was shocking. Of course my family is hoping I do at least get RT.

Anyone here who had a mastectomy AND radiation? I understand this is a decision between the RO and me, just want to get an idea of how others who have been there feel about their decision.

Thanks in advance.

I had a mastectomy, chemo and radiation. Not sure what you are trying to learn. As you talk to the radiation oncologist you’ll hear about the clinical guidance for radiation or not. As well as the approach your doctor will be taking with radiation.

Runrcrb- I know that not everyone with just one or two positive lymph nodes gets radiation. Just curious to see how many here did.
