How is everyone after six years? I gained 20 lbs, arthritis in most of my joints, knees especially, had surgical menopause, 3 years of tamoxifen, now on my third year of anastrozole, but thank God, still hanging in there

    hi BCbarbie...

I WAS doing great with NED for 5.5 years and then had an optional CT scan (before graduating from my cancer clinic) which found mets in nodes deep in my chest and lung. Worst thing ever after being more than 5 years out! And right before we were going to try to have kids.

I often wonder how others are doing from this thread. Hopefully bettter than me

I saw that this thread was active so I'll give an update. In November last year I was diagnosed with mets to the pelvic bones. I was really suprised needless to say. Now I am on Faslodex/Zometa every 28 days and Verzenio twice daily. If I could get the side effects from the Verzenio under control I would say that I feel very good other than the shock of mets of course. I keep in touch with the ladies that originally started this thread. We are the BCO girls 2012. They are all doing well and though I just check in with them occasionally the rest of them post frequently. We have had trips (which I got to join one time!) and a lot of support. I am sorry to say that we have lost some sisters to this disease but I am the only one with mets after 5 years so far.

I am so sorry, Spiced and Ashlyn. Thank you for replying to my post. I hope you both maintain a healthy attitude towards your new diagnoses, and that most of us on this 2012 thread remain NED, or stable for a long, long time.

Let’s be thankful for each day spent with our loved ones. Hang in there. Sending virtual hugs to both of you, my sisters
