Another wait

Long story short, I have a large mass in left breast with bloody nipple discharge and an inverted nipple and high vascularity. I did the mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy because they (my doctor and the radiologists) believed I had cancer. Biopsy/pathology reportsaid no. 3 of the doctors I spoke with said they were flabbergasted. New breast surgeon said the same and now wants an MRI to see if they missed something. I am in the wait game again (tho is doesn't feel as intense as the first one). Im getting a double mastectomy anyways due to A) strong family history or breast cancer and B) this mass is so large I would look quite funny and lop sided (small boobs to begin with).

Has anyone else experienced this before with the signs/symptoms and testing?

Do you know yet what the biopsy did show? There are a few benign things, one being radial scar, another sclerosing adenosis that sometimes "mimic" cancer on imaging. Another idea is they just may not have the whole story until the entire thing comes out & they do more pathology. It is called discordant results

Yeah, pathology came back and no signs of cancer where they biopsied. The doctors were perplexed to say the least. So they’re pursuing it more with a contrast MRI. I was hoping to be out of the woods but appreciate their diligence.

You need a copy of your path report if you don't have one. " No signs of cancer is not a pathology report description. It should still say what the tissue they biopsied is.

Thank you, good idea. I’ll have to ask for that record.
