Findings of both breasts are of ACR BIRADS CATEGORY-3. HELP.
Hello, I'm 21 years old. I had a surgery in January 2017(20 years old) on both my breasts to remove multiple fibroadenomas.
However, soon after the surgery, in April 2017, I felt lumps again. When I got it checked from my surgeon, he said it might possibly be scar tissue and leave it alone for a year after surgery. In January 2018, I had ultrasound done again as the lumps were concerning to me. The result came back as multiple fibroadenomas again in both my breasts. Some of them are even bigger than they were before the surgery and are in the same place. However, this time, at the end of reports, it's mentioned:
Findings of both breasts are suggestive of ACR BIRADS CATEGORY-3. Probably benign findings.
The doctor said it's nothing and I don't need to get it removed again but I'm very concerned since I'm having a lot of discomfort and pain throughout irrespective of the dates of my menstrual cycle. I'm planning to get a second opinion soon. Till then please help me what should I do? Should I get it removed or let it stay in and cause discomfort as my doctor suggests.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Even at such a young age, I'm sure its still nothing, getting a 2nd opinion at the very least will hopefully ease your mind. Think that was the logical next step. The problem with removal of them is that it takes surrounding tissue and at some point, depending on the size of your breasts, can change the appearance. When I was in my early 20's I also had 2 removed. I was small breasted and it did leave me with a noticeable loss of volume on the side of my breast. Just want you to be aware that loss of the shape and volume to some degree could happen if you have more surgery. In the end, you have to do what makes you feel comfortable.
good luck

Thank you so much for your reply.
Your words of advice are noted.
Also, I want to know, while I'm waiting for my appointment on getting a second opinion, do you know any means on how to reduce the discomfort caused by the lumps?
I'm on vitamin e tablets for over a month now and I also wear only super comfortable bras. But the discomfort and pain just doesn't seem to go away. It has become difficult to even get a good night's sleep.
Any advices on this will be highly appreciated.
