Cancer really sucks!!!
I hate Cancer of any kind but especially Breast Cancer ! I have loss so much to cancer two grandparents, my Dad at the tender age of 14, and me just five years ago was diagnosed with lymphoma( Battle Won) I lost my Mom just three months ago due to breast cancer. I had a scare in January when they found a lump in my breast fortunately it was benign, and now less than three months my sister is dying from breast cancer, hospice says it could be anytime now. And while I don’t want her to suffer I am not ready lose her. Did I say CANCER SUCKS!! That being said knowing that the odds are getting cancer breast cancer is strong because of my family history and the fact I have the chek2 gene I have a appointment later this month for a bilateral prophylactic mastectomy. I am determined that I am going to beat this by not allowing it to ever take control of my body again! It may take part of me but not all of me! Did I mention CANCER SUCKS! Thanks for allowing me to vent

OMG cancer has really taken its toll on you and your family. So sorry. Knowing you are losing your sister has to be really hard. My sister and I both have BC. Our Mom had it and while she has passed away it wasn’t from breast cancer. My dad had lymphoma and brother had melanoma. Dad is deceased but my brother is fine. He had melanoma many years ago. I don’t know anyone cancer hasn’t affected in some way.
I don’t blame you for what you are going to do. My sister and I never had the test. I have a daughter and 4 granddaughters. Hopefully they don’t have the gene. A friend at church who had BC has 2 daughters. They both have the gene.
You have every right to vent and then some.

I lost my Twin sister to MBC 10 years ago in May and my father to pancreatic 6 months later. I hate cancer and what it does to families. Now I am worried about my daughters in their 20’s. Yes, cancer sucks, but I am glad to hear that you are being proactive. Best wishes with your surgery. I had DIEP flap reconstruction and have no regrets.

For the past 20yrs my sister who was a true superwoman battled breast cancer and today I'm sorry to say with sadness in my heart that she has lost that battle. She is now with our Heavenly Father and her beloved son Dion.Rest in Peace I love you Brenda! 😢❤️

So sorry to hear this, Elijahgirl. The only comfort I took in my sister’s passing was that she was no longer in pain. Take care.

So sorry for your loss, Elijahgirl. I hope you find comfort in the knowlege that Brenda's pain has ended & that you find strength to continue your own fight. And you're right - cancer most assuredly sucks!

No words, Elijahgirl, just tears. I'm so sorry.

Thank you, everyone for your kind words of encouragement. Finally, I found a PS who will do the DIEP surgery, I have an appointment on the 9th and hopefully a date will be set for the surgery. This has been an emotional rollercoaster and journey. I had a scare in January and had to have a biopsy of my R breast, fortunately, it was B9. I also lost my mother in November and my sister in March both had BC. I also carry the CHEK 2 mutation. I am so ready to get this done BC will not claim another member of my family! #cancerreallysucks!
