hi

I recently had a breast reduction. 3 weeks later got a phone call that DCIS had been found. How long does my breast need to heal after the reduction? How long can I wait before taking care of this Will my nipple survive another surgery? I am leaning toward a masectomy. Any thoughts? Advice?

    hello

I've been diaagnosed with dcis, grade 3. Comedonecrosis type which incrementa the posssibility to come back. Just got suggested by onc to start treatment of tamoxifen and 16 radio sessions..

still in shock, its been 7 days only since i felt the lump. I have 3 little kids and im 33 yo, no family history.

Still doing research on mastectomy, genetic testing or a better way to resuce my recurrence %

Alicia - it’s a little difficult to decipher what you are describing because of typos. Normally that doesn’t matter so much but in your case I’m not totally sure what you are trying to say like necrosis? That’s the death of cells caused by a cut off blood supply due to injury or disease. So what is the word before it?

DCIS - hasn’t invaded the breast tissue which is a good thing.

It looks like your doctor is suggesting Tamoxifen and radiation as your treatment plan.

What did your dr recommend for surgery? Mastectomy or lumpectomy?

You are young which usually means doctors advise aggressive treatments.

I had iDC, Stage 1b, grade 1. I had a lumpectomy and 33 radiation treatments plus 5 years on Tamoxifen. I’m 7 years out this August.

You can do this. We are all living proof of that. At least they found it in an early stage.

    Diane
