Hi everyone! First I would like to say this community has already brought me so much comfort just reading through and seeing the kindness. It's a really great thing!

About 1 month ago I noticed I had a rash on the side of my right breast that wouldn't go away . It doesn't itch or burn, and has minimally spread. There have been no other changes in my breast so I felt confident that it was not IBC. However, my lymph node under that same side armpit felt a little swollen. I also have a lump in that breast, pretty much right under the small rash that I was told to get checked out in 6 months (they couldn't see it on the mammogram or US 6 months ago). So it has been 6 months and I got a 3Dmam and US. They now rated The lump as a Birad 4 And suggested a biopsy. The report was vague but did call it a mass and discussed my fam history of BC. It also said “well - defined borders with no vascular flow" My consult appointment with the surgeon is Monday. My brain is going straight to scary places. I'm terrified that my rash is the result of cancer spreading to my skin. I guess it could just be a coincidence but why would I have one right over the lump?! I'm so scared. My mom died of cancer when i was 16. Now I'm 30 and am still terrified of the beast we call cancer.

Thank you for reading !

I think no vascularitt is good, but others correct me if I am wrong. If the rash is an irritation, you could have lymph node swelling, etc. the lump in the breast may or may not be related.

I would inquire about genetic testing because of your mom, regardless of how this turns out.

Keep us posted. Hoping this is benign

thank you KBeee for your encouragement! I plan on getting genetic testing. I am hoping my skin is irritated and just so happens to be in that spot. I had recently started working out right before that and maybe sweat and sports bras didn’t mix well for me. It’s weird it doesn’t itch or feel like anything really, just looks like a rash. During my apt Monday I am also hoping the surgeon can give me some feedback on what he thinks the skin issue is and gives me cream to try. Than you

You also can request a copy of the ultrasound and mammogram report, if you cannot see them online. I keep all of mine. Do that no matter what the surgeon says or biopsy result is.

You can also ask the surgeon why they did not do a core needle biopsy.

Let us know how the appointment goes

I just had my consultation with the surgeon (who was informative and honest yet comforting ) and we agreed to schedule a lumpectomy. Unfortunately he was unable to see the slides of my ultrasound and mammogram because their computer could not read the program used to burn my disc from the radiologist. He did do a physical exam and said that due to my mom having IBC at 47, a biopsy is the way to go. He said that's if it wasn't for my fam hx he would assume it was fibroadenoma . That made me feel better . In general he seemed to want to play it safe and i am thankful for that. He said the rash didn't look like cancer but agreed it was strange that it is right over the lumpand will also test a piece of it. Feeling nervous but also a little more positive.

Sounds like he is being extra cautious. That’s a good thing! When is it scheduled?

Friday March 23rd! He said I’d have my results back in 1-2 days.
