Hello ladies: I am sure this has happened to many of you. How do you deal with anxiety? Since I was diagnosed, I feel such a heavy weight and like if I was walking under a black cloud. The internet, the TV, any ache I feel now reminds me that I have theseterrible cells in my body. I have two little girls and the thought of not being around to protect them is terrifying! Sometimes I question my treatment and decisions, should I have had a mastectomy?, should I have had chemo? Should I have had more testing done?what if it has spread already? What if the tamoxifen is not doing what is supposed to do? I feel nobody in my family gets what I am going through and I also hate to preoccupy them. When will all these terribles thoughts go away???

I found and still do sometimes that anxiety was the worst part of all this. For me meditation and mindfulness has been the most helpful. There was a free 8 week course at my cancer agency which made it easier to get into but they do have things on youtube. The problem is practicing which I am not always good at. I go to a meditation group once a week but find it hard to do at home.

Many people will advocate for anti anxiety medication and I sometimes will take ativan to take the edge off but am careful to not depend on that since I think once you are diagnosed with cancer you have life long anxiety to some degree so it is better to find a healthier solution.

Wishing you peace and so sorry you are faced with this nightmare.

The anxiety for me, especially at the beginning, was horrible. I had several panic attacks which I have never had before. My MO put me on daily Zoloft and it has helped me so much! Don't be afraid to ask for something.

Thank you @wrenn. Planning to join Zumba classes. Hopefully that will help.

I've also found meditation/relaxation breathing and Zumba helpful!
