I am close to having my 4th year anniv of being a survivor (yeay!!!!). I would love if you Houston gals had recommendations for an oncologist who is willing to listen! My current oncologist (MD Anderson- North) is fantastic, laser focus and this was great during my treatment. BUT it is like he is reading from a book...if it is not printed he doesn't consider it. I have had several issues I am struggling with (bad memory, can not concentrate, HUGE sex/libido issues, prescription questions, etc) and every time I talk to him he just stares at me and says...yes that is a known side effect. I cry every time I leave his office, there is no compassion and no interest in my quality of life. I am 40 years old and I would love to have an oncologist who understands that I need help getting around this memory/concentration issue, that I might want intimacy with my husband, that quality for life IS important! Sorry for the rant...anyway...suggestions/recommendations would be soooo appreciated!!!!!!!

I go to the MDA main clinic and my MO (R. Murthy), is mostly business (which I like) but has warmed up quite a bit. Also, her nursing staff have been helpful with tips and recommendations (Hyalogen).

FYI, I email questions pretty regularly and do get timely responses.

I see Dr. Mary Crow. She's straightforward and will talk with me about various issues related to survivorship. I moved to her after treatment because my previous medical oncologist was frustrating me. I'd ask him a question about diet, exercise or lifestyle and he'd just shrug.
