Waiting for the biopsy sucks!!!!!
Hello All,
I am 41 and recently had my first mammogram. They called me back for another mammo and an ultrasound, said it was probably just a cyst. Unfortunately there is a suspicious solid mass on my left breast and I am having a biopsy on Thursday. I'm not going to lie, the waiting is torture. I know that 80% of biopsies are benign, but my brain keeps saying ," well that's 20% that aren't." My mom had breast cancer, and I came up high risk on the risk assessment as well, so I have to have genetic testing and counseling at the high risk breast center. The other thing that's concerning is that my left nipple and breast have been itching since I was pregnant with my youngest (about 6 years ago). Inever thought about it too much until all this. Anyway, I'm not one to write on a community board, but I think I just needed to vent my anxieties. Thanks for listening.

Hi Bexxterk,
Sorry to hear that you've been having some breast concerns recently, the waiting is a really difficult part where you're mind can start to run away on you but hang in there while you wait for more answers.
We're here for you!

we will be thinking of you! Let us know how it turns out. I am waiting for mri results and the waiting is the worst!!
-
Sending prayers for you! The waiting is definitely a tough part.

It is indeed torture to wait for that. Waiting for results isn't a walk in the park either, we've all been there. Hang in there, do whatever you need to do to get through. I pretty much watched movies through the night because I couldn't sleep (husband was kind enough to sleep on the sofa so I could cuddle up in bed with DVD player). It helped distract me from laying there staring into darkness and worrying.

Thank you all for your kind words of support. My test is tomorrow. It seems the closer I get, the more my stomach is in knots. Trying my best to stay off the internet. :

Bessterk- we've all been where you are at now. It isn't any fun. Waiting plays all kinds of mind games with you. None of them are good. We've all been where you are at now. You're in our thoughts and a lot of positive energy is going in your direction. Good luck tomorrow.

I hope the biopsy goes well! Keep us posted

I'm waiting as well! Trying to take my mind off it, but nothing helps! My PA at my PCP's office said she is going to call for me and see if she can get a faster answer so hopefully that will help! Good luck everybody!! Tic toc...and it goes on...

Hi everyone!
My biopsy report came in today and it was B9. I am very happy to say!! it was determined to be Fibroedenema. (I know I spelled it incorrectly, sorry). Right now I would like whatever is remaining to be removed, the doctor on the phone is suggesting to just let it stay, but when I visit the doctor on the 12th, I want to discuss my options of surgery to get the darn thing out of there, what are your thoughts on this?
They really should do something about the wait we have to endure to get results back, and mine was only one week to the day, for others I realize it's even longer. I feel the waiting is almost as harsh as the results. I will continue to come on here and check up on the friends I have made. Without all of you, the past two weeks would have been almost unbearable. Thank you for all the information you provided me and the encouragement you gave.
I will continue to keep you all in my prayers. God Bless!

Hi! I am also in waiting for my biopsy, I have an entire week to stew. My mom had breast cancer at 42 so when they saw something on Mano they decided to send me for an mri. My results say there is an oval mass with heterogeneous enhancement measuring 6mm in the inferior region centrally. Corresponding module on T1 with mildly increased T2 signal. I have been looking things up. Nothing I found sounds too great, but somethings I can't seem to find when I search it. Anyway does anyone have any input on what anything means and should I be concerned. I know nothing hung can be known without further testing but any info would be greatly appreciated. I am scared obviously and very confused.

I hope you hear soon. Staying busy helps but when you are sore it isn’t easy. I had a monogram last month, a preventative MRI, showed something questionable, then a ultrasound that revealed nothing. The radiologist still was concerned enough with areas on both breasts that he is doing biopsies under guided MRI. Hope results come today from 2 days ago. Another MRI on R breast today and more waiting!

I truly hope you both have great results. I think something needs to be done with the whole waiting thing, your mind doesn't stop. Google was my friend, yet so many people told me to stop. I would take a phrase that the Radiologist wrote and google just that phrase, it was maddening!!
Best of luck to both of you
