in November I had an IUD inserted, no big deal. A month later I started getting left breast pain..I knew it would since my hormones were in high gear *I had switched from depo* then I started spotting...So this is why I had breast pain...only it didn't go away...fast forward to Feb it kind of subsided for a week. I had my annual with my doctor she suggested I get a sonogram and possibly a mammogram while I'm at it...ever since she did the standard check my left breast and nipple have hurt 10 times worse. Every morning when I wake up I feel my left breast is engorged and heavy and my nipple burns and is tender..as I lay now in bed no bra on it hurts to even touch it.ove had breast pain for 3 months now minus the 1 week Could this be hormones or could it be something more serious ?

it's probably nothing but you should have a mammogram just to make sure. Best wishes

There is likely more going on than justhormones, but it is very unlikely to be cancer. Keep following up with your doctor until they determine what is going on. You could have an infection of some sort.

I don't think you're overreacting. Clearly, something is going on with your breast. Most of the likely culprits are benign, but of course we always get concerned when it's our breasts. Definitely get the ultrasound and whatever other testing they suggest and don't stop until you have answers that make sense.
