There may already be a thread for this - if so, please direct me there :). My MO would like for me to have my ovaries removed. I am currently taking Tamoxifen and my liver enzymes continue to climb, also dealing with hypertension - thank you Tamoxifen. She does not feel that my body will tolerate the Tamoxifen for the next 5 to 10 years, so is recommending they be removed and then I would switch to an AI. Would love to hear from those of you who have gone this route, etc. Thank you so much in advance. Grateful for this amazing tribe of women!!!

My daughter had a BMX and oophorectomy at 41. She has never had a problem with either procedure. I'm sure many other women will add to this thread. Good Luck and hugs.

I was diagnosed in January of 2016 at 41. I completed radiation in may of that year and had voluntary complete hysterectomy a month later since I already had large cyst on one and thick lining and was facing a second d and c. I also have taken tamoxifen since then and my liver enzymes have steadily climbed on every lab starting about six months after I started taking it. My mo wants me to stay on it since I’m only 43 and I need some estrogen for heart and bone health. I wonder how high my enzymes will have to be before I have to get off it. I also have fatty liver caused by the medicin

ML1209 I couldn't tolerate Tamoxifen so I'm having my ovaries removed on the 22nd. A little nervous about the surgery although I'm told it's an easy recovery. I'm actually looking forward to getting rid of the hormones because now that I look back at my life (I'm 46), my hormones have given me a lot of problems. I've seen a lot of posts on here from women who say they felt better after ovary removal. I hope I'm one of them! Good luck to you.

I had a hyst and ooph at 50. BC at 58. It was an easy procedure for me with no complications. Removing your ovaries does not completely shut down estrogen production. The adrenal gland also contributes to estrogen production, as does fatty tissue. I've always been a bit confused about estrogen levels and ER+ BC.
