ER/PR+ Tends to metastasize in 3 rather than 5 years?

My BS mentioned that my type of cancer tends to metastasize or not in three years rather than five. Has anyone else heard this? I have kind of spot checked some diagnoses and this does seem common

    I don't think that is quite accurate. The way it was explained to me is that there are "high-risk zones," purely statistically speaking. Years 1-3 is one such zone. If it hasn't metastasized by year 3, then the next zone is years 7-10, roughly speaking and speaking of ER+ ILC. The 5-yr mark is purely arbitrary and in the case of breast cancer sort of irrelevant. Unfortunately BC can return at any point, 2, 10 or 25 years after initial DX.
