Hello everyone.

Well I'm a new mom to a beautiful 4 & 1/2 month old baby girl. I have a wonderful husband. My family is my world. I'm 25.

I couple weeks ago I thought I felt a slightly small lump or swelling in the inner part of my right breast. I called my OB and made an appointment just to make sure it wasn't anything to worry about.

Well, at my appointment on Tuesday he told me he did feel something (didn't go into detail) but said he didn't think it was anything I needed to be really worried about. He said he did, however, want to schedule an ultrasound on it anyway just to make sure since there's only so much he can tell from feeling. There might be a little tinge of soreness in that area every now and then, but nothing I’ve really noticed (of course) until now. I didn’t breastfeed and I have a low hormone IUD.

I have no breast cancer history in my family that I'm aware of, however other cancers are definitely present.

I am only 25 and I know that the odds are in my favor but I still can't shake the anxiety. What if I do have BC? What if I find out that I'm sick and I won't be able to watch my daughter grow up or be here for my husband?

All I've ever wanted was to be a mom and I'm so scared of not being here for her. I love my family so much. I just want to be healthy for them.

I know I'm obviously jumping to worst case scenario, but I can't seem to shake it. I go tomorrow morning and my OB said I won't leave there not knowing. I just am praying and praying for good news.

Has anyone else had scares like this?

You are not alone, as you'll probably discover reading the discussions here, with many similar such posts. After pregnancy and birth of a baby, it is not unusual to have changes to breasts. We're glad your doctor has prescribed an ultrasound, and truly hope that all is benign.
