Zoladex or Lupron injections followed by AI

For those on Zoladex or Lupron, did your doctor's perform blood tests before giving you an AI to ensure you're in menopause? If so, what did they test for?

    My doctor started me on Aromasin and Zoladex a few months after I finished chemo. She didn't bother to test because she was pretty sure that my ovaries were still messed up from chemo, and my period had survived AC chemo (stopped during Taxol + Herceptin + Perjeta). We've talked about taking a hormonal therapy holiday and testing for FSH and estradiol to see whether or not I can stop with the Zoladex.

    elainetherese, I would love to get off the zoladex! Can I ask how old you are? I am 52. Thanks

    No blood tests for me. I was on Lupron three month dose and my period stopped so started the AI after three months. Lasted a year. Switched to Tamoxifen.
