Hi,

Did anyone have a verification app't after the simulation but before your first treatment? If so, what did it consist of? I just got a call to come extra early on Thursday for verification.

Sounds like that is a "dry run" to be sure everything lines up right. My MO originally wanted one but we went right to treatments instead.

I had one too. Just to make sure the mold was good and everything lined up correctly. They might have taken X-rays too. I can't recall. It didn't take long.

    Thanks Georgia1 and Legomaster225,

Thanks for responding. It sounds like it's pretty quick. After my treatment then I get an injection of antiinflammatory meds so laying facedown even if longer than planned won't be so much of an issue.

Yup. They will put you in place and do xrays called "port films" to verify that the treatment is in the correct position. They then do that again weekly before treatment. So once a week your treatment will be slightly longer. I think it added a couple of minutes onto my treatments, if I remember correctly. it wasn't a big deal at all.

    Thanks gb2115,

Ok, doesn't seem like a big deal. I don't know what I would do without you guys helping me along the way, I'd be in the dark since the doctors don't give patients the details of treatments. Thanks again.

I had the dry run appt but it went so well they went ahead and treated. You might ask if that's possible--anything to get one of those sessions behind you.

Thanks, that's exactly what is scheduled. Do the dry run and then treatment right after. Plus a short meeting with the nurse regarding skin issues.
