Wellness Basket?

Options

Hello,

I apologize that this is a double post -- I posted to the complimentary medicine page too -- but since I am starting radiation in a couple of weeks, I would love specific feedback from fellow radiation folks...

My local church community wants to put together a wellness basket for me. They are asking me for specific items I would like in the basket. I am at a loss as to where to begin. I had surgery 4 weeks ago and will begin radiation in a couple of weeks. I would really love to hear from others about what they found most helpful -- specifically any items/supplements/herbs/wellness products (even those that can be considered personal care, or pampering). I appreciate any input. (The woman putting the basket together works in a natural food store.)

Funny, I kind of liken this to the baby registry I had for my first child. I didn't even know where to begin, or what might be helpful. So, thank you for any suggestions you can offer!

How about some lotions that you may need for radiation! Calendula and Aloe

Rdeesides has made an excellent suggestion! You might add Miaderm lotion and soap to your list of personal care products. They'll probably have to order them online.

And if you think it's appropriate to ask for such things from a church group, suggest that they look at this website for bras, bralettes, camisoles, etc.:

A lot of these items are "one size fits most," so you won't have to provide them with your bra size.

That is so sweet of them. Honestly if it were me (having gone through it), gift cards for food---like carryout places (for when you are too tired to cook), or Starbucks. I don't know if you like coffee, but I often stopped at Starbucks after treatment before going back to work--I felt like baring my breast daily for 6 weeks made me REALLY deserve a latte...lol.

Half way through rads I couldn't stand a bra and bought several soft camis.
